East Garden — Restaurant in New York

I didn’t even have time to change addresses, anyways, the food tasted so good, I mean top of the line, I found them by googling and to my surprise were neighbors, I could taste the fresh oil in the food, the prices are also fairly cheaper than locations closer, I will be ordering my Chinese food only from them, as I don’t taste last week’s grease, my body also enjoyed it because I didn’t end up looking crazy, omg I had to get this review in because if you taste their Chinese you realize that you’ve been getting a bad batch of fried foods especially with old oil, I can’t stress that enough, anyways go to this place, I also ordered shrimp and broccoli white rice in garlic sauce with some crab sticks on the side, don’t know what I’ll have next, I could rant all day about these people, and it’s off the fly but hey I’m excited that I found a spot that my body appreciates, and the delivery is so fast, I almost traveled for it but by the time I even got out the shower the female driver was here, I couldn’t ask for anything more, meanwhile other places got 30-35 wait time, for last weeks oil, it made me want to say...

Hi! So I'll be honest, I had just moved to New York and the first place we went to did us so dirty. So when I saw East Garden I was very hesitant on going in but eventually decided to take a chance at fate, little did I know how much their General Tao's chicken with shrimp lo mein would change my life for the better.

See I can't handle too-too much spice, so I was reluctant to get it but the aroma brought back memories of my grandparents eating the General Tao's chicken from back home and got it anyway.

Once I saw it, I noticed it had just the right amount of sticky sauce, it was churchy but soft too (Which I loved) and from the moment I tasted it, I was immediately reminded of the times I had with my grandparents. Since I recently lost my grandmother, this moment made me burst into tears (Happy ones of course) when I had gotten home. It wasn't too spicy and had a tint of sweetness, an paired with the Shrimp Lo Mein turned out to be the right choice, The dish was very very Delicious. We've always ordered from Dynasty/Hong Kong Palace because it's right next door to us, but we took a chance on this place for the first time last night, and wow am I glad we did! Their hot and sour soup was excellent - thick but not gelatinous, like some other places - as was their egg drop soup, which I usually find disgusting and gooey at other American-Chinese restaurants. They had pad thai, which I know isn't Chinese, but it was actually just as delicious as any real Thai place's pad Thai! Their jumbo shrimp tasted fresh, not old and grainy; the egg roll was delicious; ribs were great; even their dumplings were tasty (though a little more on the doughy side than what I prefer).
