El Cafetal — Restaurant in New York

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I specifically told them NO AGUACATE and NO FRIJOLES. (Spoke spanish even) to make sure they would understand it. Guess what? After 1 long hour waiting, my food arrived COLD with avocado and beans in it, when I've requested several times the opposite!!! I tried calling them back, and they were like... " We will give you a discount next time..." WHAT??? Of course I told them I am not looking for a discount, I would like to get another sandwich delivered. Unfortunatelly the answer I got was, they would replace the sandwich but it would take about an hour or so to get the other one delivered to me. I'm very disappointed. Very bad customer service! The sandwich I ordered is in the trash can! Wish I had paid with a credit card as I would definitely call the card company and ask for a charge back! WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE...

I'm not usually one to write reviews but I feel like reviews always help businesses in their weaker areas. I came here on a Wednesday evening, I was looking forward to trying their michelada and was disappointed when the waitress said they didn't have it due to ownership change and license (I get it) So I ordered a tamarindo juice which tasted more like water with flavor. I then ordered the vegetable enchiladas with NO cheese. And I received a plate of enchiladas with cheese all over. The rice and beans are okay but the beans are a bit tasteless. The enchiladas weren't bad but c'mon as a waitress you have one job, Customers are paying for what they ask for. The place has potential but in my opinion there are better authentic Mexican cuisine restaurants...

Finally stopped in after passing by for a long time. We had a really great time and will definitely be back. Service was friendly, fun and helpful. We got nachos, tacos and some soup. I would say the chicken taco was a little plain, steak taco was pretty good, Barbacoa nachos were a highlight and the soup was really good. Definitely something I would get on a cold night my only regret is that we didn't come sooner. We'll...
