El Encanto Centro Americano — Restaurant in New York

If I could give zero stars, I would. I will never come here again. I am an African American woman and I noticed if you're not Spanish, the service, the level of courtesy, and respect is very different of that of the Spanish customers. What the employees did not know is that my family is Panamanian and I understand Spanish. The looks the girls gave me, the way they spoke about me (I read their lips over the music) and laughed was terrible. My waitress was trying to be nice but was not very attentive. I had to search for her and wave my hands to get her attention a lot. However, I still tipped her $5.00 on my card. In addition, everything I tried to order was not available/they didn't have. To make matters worse, I went to the bathroom on my way out and found a roach by the bathroom door which is next door to the kitchen. I would not be returning. They are very racist/prejudice if you are not Spanish or if they think you aren't. They will not service you with the same level of attentiveness if they don't believe you are Spanish or speak Spanish. They ignored me a lot. Instead of attacking them verbally, I just left with my pictures of the roach after showing them and decided to write this review. They are not welcoming if they believe you are not Spanish or Spanish speaking. I was going to order more food to take home to my family but didn't. I will never spend my money here again. HOY DOMINGO 27/02/2022 compre una sopa de Mondongo muy buena la comida siempre compro ahí, lo único que la cocinera pensó que le pedí sopa para mi perro, dos pedazos de mondongo y 2 enormes huesos, seamos serios, es un lugar donde venden buena comida no pierdan clientes por querer ahorrar un poco de carne..... PD LA SOPA...
