El mexicano — Restaurant in New York

First off I just want to begin this by displaying my disappointment. I used to order from this restaurant a lot, and over time things started to get weird. The first thing was one of the delivery drivers doing graffiti in my apartment hallway years ago, but I kept my mouth shut with that. They made issues with vegan options, simplifying their veggie options to have no diary, and most times they certainly did. However, my last straw was when they put a single piece of chicken in the middle of my burrito, when I specifically ordered veggie options. Idk if it was a mistake or not, but for that piece to be directly in the middle of my burrito I bought, and then almost consuming it was the final straw to me. These people are either careless or vindictive of their customers preferences on orders. I will never eat from here again, and if you are vegan/plantbased don’t bother because you’re either a) not important enough to have your preferences met or b) you’re dealing with a restaurant that wants no...

Called and placed my order. When I got to the restaurant I asked why my total was higher than normal. I asked for the receipt and ask why I was being charged double for a small rice and beans. The girl there looked at me and said they have to charge me separately for the rice and then for the beans. Wait what?? On their menu a small rice & beans is $4. So why am I being charged $8?? Her excuse was some people take the rice and some people take just beans...Please tell me how that makes any sense. On your menu it's says $4 for a small rice and beans. Not $4 for rice and $4 for beans. Avoid this place, the food is alright but after today I'll never be returning. I'm not sure why I was told this, I've been eating here for a while and they've tried over charging me before but always said "oh sorry" like they made a mistake but today, she flat out looked at and was like "this is how much it is now" update your online menu then!!!

Ordered delivery. Everything was on point. Ladies who took my order were competent and friendly. I read a few old reviews about the service and didn’t have that issue.

Breaded beef steak with rice and beans. Loved this entire dish. Veggie enchiladas with green sauce (and no cheese because I’m allergic). I substituted rice and beans for salad and fries on the enchilada plate. I think everything comes with sour cream and fresh cheese but I asked for it to be removed. Everything arrived as requested and it was a 10/10. Super fresh ingredients, cheap and solid preparation. Will order again.

Also I was able to call the restaurant directly for delivery to save on delivery fees and other charges because I live about 10 mins away. Great value for the price. I also ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice which was a highlight.
