Pho Viet Nam — Restaurant in New York

It's my 700th review! So for my 700th, I've decided to finally review one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Brooklyn, since I recently got the chance to have lunch here.

Pho Vietnam is one of two viet places on Avenue U. It's also the better option. Better service, and better food.

I ordered my go-to, which is cold vermicelli with a combination of the spring rolls + some type of meat. Usually, I get beef but this time, I decided to step (only a little) outside of the box and got the minced pork. It came out this weird reddish-looking pork patty, but it was surprisingly good. Pho Vietnam did not disappoint, yet again!

For hangover days, I go with their pho #1 which has all sorts of beef goodies in it and seems to be their most popular.

I think I'll have to start trying out some of their other menu items. But the cold vermicelli dish is just so good that I can't pass it up. I guess I'll just have to order two...

Aside from the mediocre service the pho broth is pretty bland . Pretty stingy on the veggies for the pho but it’s NYC lol. My children enjoyed their grilled chicken and grilled pork chop over rice plate. Traditional I’ve seen much bigger plates from California to Georgia and even to Queens nyc but everyone is different . My kids enjoyed it so that’s important. . The table tea was nice and pleasant . The crispy rolls was fulfilling yet small. After tasting the grilled meats. The pork chop definitely is more flavorful. The jasmine rice was nice as well. Respectfully this does not have a authentic feel or taste as the usual home town Vietnamese places. Unfortunately I would have to pass for round 2. To each is own ....

Everything was good EXCEPT for the customer service. They were very rude & rushing my table to hurry & order. From heavy breathing & pacing around the table constantly to aggressively moving chairs that didn’t need fixing.. When we were leaving, we did not tip because of the service & who I assume was one of the owners or managers, proceeded to aggressively demand a tip. We tried to explain to him why his server wasn’t tipped but he just kept talking over us & told us “don’t come back here”. It was very hurtful & rude because my family & I have been going here for years & I’ve even brought more business to the company. I wish they would just improve their...
