“Exceptional” is the word that describes my son and his best friend’s joint 6th birthday party that occurred on September 21st, 2024 at the Avenue U CMA. We are used to package parties, and like the other places, we assumed this party was going to be the common 2-hour play-pizza time for the children with parents chit-chatting alongside a bench. However, the Avenue U CMA surprised us and exceeded our expectations. They threw us a spectacular interactive party, consisting of activities after activities, and fun age appropriate Tae Kwon Do in between. The children went wild! Here are some pointers you want to know… The Price: We needed to accommodate about 30 children, a much bigger crowd than the package. They gladly revised the package to meet our needs. I’ve searched for months and found their price to be the most affordable, comparing to other venues in Brooklyn. The Service: The Host, Instructor Briana and the rest of the Staff Members, were all highly and equally attentive to our needs. They responded to our gazillion questions in a professional, and yet friendly, manner that puts anyone at ease. The Venue: The day of the party, we walked in to the entire gym to ourselves decorated in the spot-on festive theme of our choice, ballooned and illuminated like a fairy tale. I can confess that the inner child in me leaped for joy at the sight of the venue! Staffing: Though the ratio of Staff Members to children was more than enough to relieve the parents off duty, that didn’t stop most of us from joining in the fun. Even the Dads couldn’t resist and joined in! Safety is particularly important to me. The Staff’s attention to our children throughout the party was outstanding. Food: They allowed us to bring our own food for the adults. They provided lots pizza, fries and snacks for the kids that we had left overs. Super Special Moments: There were many but I’ll mention two. 1- There was this particular game going on which I wanted to partake in and yet film at the same time with my phone. The Master, Master Bogdan, spotted me struggling to tend to both tasks across the room, and he immediately prompted a Staff member to come take over the filming for me. 2- I was surprised to see the Master himself in attendance and play the ring leader of the party who kept those children on their toes. The quality of the goodie bags and perks inside. I can go on and on… As a person who observes and makes critical judgement for living, I can confidently testify the Staff at the Avenue U CMA do not do this as a just job. They enjoy serving the children and they do so joyfully from the heart! Each and every single one of the parents of our children’s friends who attended also noticed the sheer difference in the service and had nothing but outstanding feedback to us. And that made me so proud! In summary, if you want a budget friendly, unforgettable electric birthday party with a stellar customer service for your child, look no further than the Avenue U CMA! You will...
Read moreTaekwondo has been an amazing experience for all this time I went here.
When I told my friends I do Taekwondo, they looked amazed, and ask, "Wow, do you kick a lot of people?" That's what I thought Taekwondo was when I was just a scared white belt. Now I'm a brown belt, and I know so much more. Taekwondo is so much more. Yes, you kick, you punch, but you also learn respect and discipline. One of the first things we're taught is to bow to the flags, and greet the masters and instructors with a loud and strong "Hello sir", or a "hello ma'am".
I also made such close friends here, and I will never give them up for all the world. The people you train with are the people that will become your friends. I've learned that for the (about) two years I've been here. Master Bogdan is the best master anyone can ever have. He's caring and patient. When you don't get how to do something, he doesn't throw his hands up and scream at you. He patiently teaches you until you get it, even if it takes days. Practice makes perfect, but so does a caring and amazing master. Sometimes the training can be hard, but it's helpful to our bodies. We might be tired and in pain, but next class we're stronger, better.
I also had the amazing opportunity to become a staff at this school. I get to help and teach people that are as young as three. They are all so caring, and grow to love you, and I love all of them too. Sometimes they misbehave, but that's not bad. And that's what we do. We teach them to be respectful, but it doesn't mean we can't have some fun too. We make up fun exercises to warm them up, and it doesn't hurt to be a little playful. And it pays off when you see their happy faces when they get their next belt and hug you. They don't necessarily have to say thank you, but we know it's there.
Overall, Ave U Taekwondo is an amazing school. If you are looking for a place for your child to exercise and have fun, this is the place to go. If you're a kid who wants to go to practice Martial Arts, nudge your parents towards this place. You...
Read moreIt’s been about a year and half since my son started to attend this school and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! My little one has always been quite petite for his age as well as a little shy, so we wanted him to build some self confidence and physical strength.
To be honest I was hesitant to try it at first, as I thought martial arts are not meant for little kids (we started at the age of 3). I was comforted by the instructor that their curriculum is age appropriate and i have to say it really was! They not only teach kids kicking, but also pay attention on the moral side, encouraging respect to taekwon-do, the trainers and peers without going to strict about it. They truly care about their students and know their way around kids, masterly mixing teaching, playing and just being silly with them sometimes.
Since we started my son has blossomed and loves going to his school so much, that he even requested to celebrate his birthday there! They have all-inclusive packages (which works great for busy parents) and let you be as involved as you’d like to. All my requests were fulfilled perfectly and the kids had a blast! The highlight of the party for my son was cutting the cake with katana (Japanese type of sword)! I can go on longer, but just wanted to genuinely thank Master Bogdan and the entire team for everything they do for the kids and the community! You guys...
