El Vicentino — Restaurant in New York

Hello , I dared to give this review just so the restaurant gets better . Attention was great , the atmosphere was pleasant , most of the food was good but the tostones , patacones : they were from the frozen section of the super . They were not fresh , they were stale and quite flavorless . A restaurant should always offer fresh food , doing otherwise is a disrespect to the customer. This is not the first restaurant in college point that offers frozen stale fried green plantains . I have experienced this in many Latino restaurants . I've come to this establishment before. I decided to visit today since I was in the area. The pupusas are usually really good. This time, I ordered 8 pupusas and a jugo de mora. The pupusa had no flavor. The red sauce and cabbage had no flavor. I was so disappointed. 45$ worth of food not eaten. I'm very disappointed. They also added another food I didn't order. When I asked them why was there a charge for it, they said I ordered that as well. I clearly didn't. I didn't want to do the back and forth, so I just kept it as is. This cool place makes me feel I’m in El Salvador. The music they play overhead, the strong ac as it’s hot and humid outside, the ambience inside, the wide mirror, green color walls, clean wooden benches lining the walls, and their authentic delicious puspusa is excellent. My husband and I just love this place. The guy who served our meal is sensitive or understands that we needed 2 spoons for the soup.
