My coffee was delicious but the service was really off putting unfortunately. I felt like I was intruding on the barista by being in the shop. They stood around on their phone for a bit before taking my order, and I sat down at the bar with my computer. When it was ready they put the to go cup about 5 feet away from me prompting me to get back up, instead of just turning around and handing it to me, which was odd but not the worst thing in the world, it’s just that they were standing right there and could have turned to hand it to me so it felt a little deliberate. I asked for the WiFi password and they didn’t even turn around to speak to me when they gave it to me. I wouldn’t have even written this review except their demeanor with everyone else was so different. The people who stayed to drink their coffee got a mug, not a to go cup, they got conversation and just an overall a better vibe. Believe me I’m the first person in the world to check myself when it comes to customer service and truly I cannot think of any place I may have misstepped to cause this person to act this way towards me. It’s a bummer because I really wanted to have a new spot to spend an hour or two in the mornings but I don’t think...
Read moreThe cutest and coziest coffee shop in Park Slope. I don't venture out to park slope as often as I should but when I do, I always look for a place with great coffee, ambience and friendliness.
Street Parking was relatively easy to find on a Monday afternoon and Everyman Espresso is literally just around the corner on 5th Ave.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the owner / barista. I ordered a iced latte which was probably the best iced latte I've had. My favorite was from The Bean in the city and every other latte I've had was just decent. But Everyman espresso's iced latte was smooth and not acidic. I don't usually add sugar so I didn't add sugar in my latte but it wasn't even bitter!
The seating is like a bar type seating, there isn't separated tables as you'd see in for instance Starbucks. But it was a nice change of vibe.
Definitely a must go if around the area. I was able to get a lot of work done. They have free wifi, clean bathrooms and...
Read moreWith a coat of white and their signature multicolored tiles, Everyman has created an inviting, friendly cafe. After 13 years of being nearly synonymous with Counter Culture Coffee in New York City, the shock was heard round the world when they switched to Black & White Roasters (also from North Carolina). They have a great Covid setup, with a face shield, barista distancing, Orange Julius-smelling hand disinfectant, and contactless payment. (Cash tips are appreciated though). Although I usually drink espresso, I tried their spiced orange chai cappuccino and deem it worthy as a winter warmer - not oversweet and the foamed milk warms...
