Farieda's Dhal Puri Hut — Restaurant in New York

I always buy from Farida’s roti shop but it’s a few time now I have been noticing a few things which I would like to share with others. A, we are pay for food and B, it’s our money that’s having their business productive and their staff working their. Now I bought curry a few times and I wasn’t happy since the food is open and the workers talk over the food, and the food trays are all dirty and dug up. So that turned me off besides, one of the girl was wiping the glass case outside with a gloves on her hand and she went around to give me my food and she used that same gloves to take my food out. So that was that with their curry for me. I stop eating from them. But, I still buy their dhal puri and oil Roti. Last night January 29th, 2024 at about 8.pm I went in and asked for five oil roti. The lady was cleaning the glass outside where the food is and she went in again with that same gloves and give me three roti and told me to wait for 5 minutes that they are cooking my other two roti. I paid her and waited. When I came home the roti was raw and white and pale that you can actually hold the dough like a piece of sticky gum. I was very upset it’s not the first time I am having this issues and when I address them with it they were very rude to me. So, guys be careful of the unsanitaryness and the way they are make believing that they are using gloves in the mean time they are doing everything with that same gloves including cashing at the register which is disgusting because money has germs and it’s food for our health they are using that same gloves to do everything. I had some one with me last night and she was like thank god I didn’t buy any thing from this place. That the lady was using the same gloves hand to hold the door, the spoon to take the curry out, to put the roti in the bag and to cash me out. No way I will take my business some where else where appreciate customers health and money. I am a very clean observing person. This place is the worse. Once I order Bara to picked up at 12. I got there at one and the order was not ready. I had to wait another 45 minutes. The second time I called to place an order. The girl that answered the phone told me to text the order to the number I called. I did and I asked them to confirm the order by text. I didn’t hear from them so I called about four hours after I text the order. No one check the phone for text orders even though they told me to text. She said they have the text and I will get the order tomorrow. When I went the next day to pick up they were no order. They said they have no order and they were closing now. Like an idiot I place another order for a next day. When I show ed up the did have the Bara. She wanted to know if I want polourie instead. I said if I wanted that I would have ordered that. She wanted to see proof of what time I order I showed it to her. I order at 1:38 and went to pick it up at 7 and they did not have the order. She said yo wait they are frying it now. I waited 45 minutes for the order. When I got the the event the tray was full with poluhrie and just a few Bara on top so it look like it’s all Bara. When I call they said the Bara was extra. How can it be extra when I paid for a tray of Bara. Ever doing business with them again. I like to help small businesses but...

I have never ate any dishes from this restaurant except the black/lamb pudding. My review is based on the black/lamb pudding. I have had this dish many times from probably everywhere in the neighborhood and nothing compares to Fariedas. I will not go anywhere else for black/lamb pudding but here. The portions are 100% worth it and the flavor is amazing the price is very fair and reasonable. If you are ever having a occasion and need a tray this is the place to go. Every family event I attend I get $50-$100 worth. I have recommend so many people here and no one ever had a complaint or regretted it. If you are around the area I highly suggest giving it a try. I gave my review four stars for the simple fact of if I place a order a day before then call 3 hours before to make sure you have the order then call 15 mins when I am on the way to pick up I would expect the order to be ready when I arrive for me to just pay and be on my way. I can understand if this happens one time or maybe two times but this is always the situation for the past two years and i order from you guys at least twice a month for special occasions.
