Came here to get some Filipino food with two friends but instead of the usual Roosevelt Ave line of restaurants I said let’s try FiesTam Bayan, came over greeted was sat down right away. Ordered some food, the food was usual Filipino flair to me , nothing more exciting than any of the other restaurants around. Our water glasses also were filled very promptly. So I thought okay nothing terrible but nothing exciting either . It wasn’t until the bill came there was a random DC charge of $30 , which was basically a charge of $10 each person in my group because they had a “live band” performing, which honestly in my opinion seemed like more like a 2 guy friends singing and drinking alcohol with friends just for fun not for a actually performance. This was definitely a turn off nothing against the band but the restaurant should mention it upon walk in , or at the door or even in their menu , what if I had a large group that would easily add up. All the staff and the crue were very nice and accomodating from the owner Rey, the emcee, Dave the cook and the rest of the staff. Food and the place is great although dance floor is a bit small good for 20 to 25 people. Parking is hard to find. But otherwise I will recommend this place to other people. Excellent...
