I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at Matchpoint NYC, especially with two of their coaches, Tim and Alex. Private lessons cost $140 each, and unfortunately, both coaches were unprofessional throughout the entire process. We started with Tim, and right from the beginning, he was more focused on his phone—scrolling through social media—than on teaching my 7-year-old daughter. After seeing how disengaged and unmotivated she became, I reached out to Tim via text (which I still have saved). Instead of taking responsibility or making an effort to improve, he responded rudely and ended up transferring my daughter to another coach, Alex. Today’s experience was the final straw. After missing a lesson due to my daughter being sick (which I paid for) I followed up with Alex to confirm today’s session, to which he gave a thumbs-up response. When we arrived for the lesson, however, we were turned away, leaving my daughter upset. I showed Alex the message confirming the lesson, but he continued to deny any mistake on his part. When I escalated the issue to Tim, he completely brushed me off, saying he had nothing to do with Alex’s schedule, even though it was Tim who originally recommended him. The lack of professionalism and accountability from both coaches has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. To add injury to insult, Alex walked over to Tim hand shaking him and chuckling while I was watching from the large window, as if I didn't have a right to be upset after our experience. As a family that takes sports seriously—my husband played D1 hockey, my older daughter played Varsity soccer and is now graduating from UT Austin, and I played D1 basketball—I expected much better treatment. I hope other parents are aware of what they might experience with these two coaches, especially if they’re looking for a serious, professional environment for their child’s sports...
Read moreMy son has been attending soccer classes for almost 3 years. During the first two years, I was totally satisfied with his classes despite the inflated cost. I noticed the progress, and the coach was very attentive to the kids in his group. The coach always gave feedback about children's results, sensed their moods, and solved any issues in time. However, the last year has been a waste of time and money. Every year, you have to pay a registration fee. If you want your child to play for the “TEAM,” you have to pay extra money for the team games, with no refund if your child couldn’t make it for any reason. Moreover, nobody pays attention to children's qualifications when making a suggestion to their parents to join the team. Just pay, and you are in. This year, my son had FOUR coaches. I don’t even know all their names, not to mention that at least one of them went to their parents and gave some feedback. At the beginning of this year, I approached the main coach and owner of this business and asked to return my child to the previous coach. My request was impolitely denied, explaining that his previous coach trained older children, and it was impossible to let my kid play with those boys despite the fact that in his second year, my son played in the group one and two years older than him. I cannot even express how disappointed I am this year with Match Point Soccer Team. If you are okay with spending money just for kids' fun and light exercises, you are welcome. But if you want to teach your child to play football, I’m afraid you are not...

Without any saying she transfers you over to the next person who also sounds miserable and defeated. Before I even went any further I told them how rude they were and to have a nice day....
