Title: Bubbles, Velvet, and a Hint of Paris in Midtown — Flûte is a Vibe

Review: Dropped into Flûte Champagne Bar after a packed day of judo training and real estate meetings — needed something with a little sparkle, and this tucked-away Midtown gem delivered.

It feels like a sultry Parisian lounge — dim lighting, velvet banquettes, and that unmistakable clink of flutes catching candlelight. The champagne list? Solid. From grower bottles to vintage labels, they’ve curated a selection that leans French-forward without being overwhelming.

I went with a classic Brut Rosé, served properly chilled in a tall flute. Balanced, dry, with just enough fruit to ride solo. Bonus: they had a specialty cocktail featuring elderflower and bubbles that was light, floral, and well executed.

Food: Small bites menu was on point. I ordered the truffle popcorn and smoked salmon toast — both elevated bar fare, perfect for a pre-dinner stop or nightcap.

Service: Service was professional but not overly warm — efficient, knowledgeable, but a little distant. Could’ve used just a touch more hospitality to hit the fifth star.

Vibe: Dark, romantic, intimate. A date-night favorite, no doubt. Ideal for small groups, couples, or solo champagne lovers looking to escape the chaos above ground.

Final Take: Flûte feels like a secret worth sharing — a Paris-meets-NYC escape built for toasts, conversation, and a little magic in a glass. Not quite perfect, but absolutely worth the visit.

Perhap's we came on the wrong night. It was a Monday night, after a concert at Carnegie Hall. Ambiance was great, although loud hip hop music as one of the options doesn't say "Speak Easy" some music tracks were very fitting for the place. Two stars are for the decor and a well made drink. But service was sub par. I had the "Antoinette" and the other party had the "Kir Royale" both were really good. Server brought drinks, disappeared and never came back. My husband would have liked another drink but after getting up, looking around for someone and after standing in the middle of the place right in front of the bar...crickets. Nobody to be found. He said "let's go". Still not a sign of anyone. Went up to bar, there was a woman sitting on a iPad, I thought at first a customer, I asked if anyone was around to settle up...she jumped up, called out a name then walked to the door and our server was outside chatting and smoking all that time with the bartender. I don't begrudge someone a break but maybe say "I'm going on break, did you want another drink or your bill" As I was settling bill the lady with laptop started discussion with bartender about FB groups and which ones to join" pretty much zero interaction with me as a customer whilst I'm paying for my...

I had an odd experience here. The design of this speakeasy-inspired spot in a basement is pretty charming. It’s dark and cozy and lit by warm-toned lighting and candlelight. The drink menu was well thought out and reasonably priced for this part of the world.

The service was a little bizarre. We had excellent service from a young woman who was there for most of our visit. She left about an hour into our visit and informed us that the bartender would take over. He was pleasant at first. Then when another party came in, his entire attitude changed and when we approached the bar to pay, he had a really rude and caustic attitude with our party for no reason. We had been quiet, respectful, and appreciative throughout the entire visit. When I tried to paid the ticket, for some reason he kept tinkering with the bill on the POS system a the bar. Finally he slammed down my bill after barking at me to repeat, for the third time, what I had. I’m a good tipper but this service was extremely hostile for no reason and my tip reflected this. A bit of customer service training with this gentleman might be helpful to keep other customers from having the same experience. His attitude pretty well ruined an otherwise...

We visited Flute bar on August 13th for my Birthday celebration in a party of 9 people. We had a private mixology class at the venue that we arranged in advance and paid in full for everyone in our party. When we arrived at the place, we had to spend around 45 minutes waiting for our table (although we arranged all the experience in advance and paid in full). One of my guests had to leave before the class started. Before of the delay she didn’t get to try any of the drinks. So we could only take the class in a party of 8 people. The mixology class itself was good and included 3 drinks that we mixed ourselves. The bartender that was teaching us provided instructions on how to mix the drinks as well as some historical information about each drinks and we found it entertaining. However me and my guests were very disappointed about the delay and the fact that the bar wasn’t ready for us when we arrived. I reached out to the bar a few times after that to get a refund for the 9th person who couldn’t get to participate in the class clearly because the bar wasn’t ready when we arrived. The bar management ignored my requests - this is clearly not a good service.
