It was a typical evening on Feb 19,2025 at 11PM, and my husband and I were excited to grab a pizza after a long day. As a new mother, just one month postpartum, I was still adjusting to the physical changes and challenges that came with childbirth. One of the more difficult adjustments was dealing with postpartum urinary incontinence, which left me often rushing to find a restroom. As my husband stood patiently in line to place our order, I felt the familiar pressure in my bladder. I quickly glanced around, hoping to find a restroom so I wouldn't have to interrupt him. However, as I made my way toward the back of the restaurant, I was met by an unexpected and quite unpleasant barrier--one of the cashiers halted me with a dismissive wave of his hand, as if shooing away a fly. "You need to show me some respect," he declared, his tone dripping with arrogance. Completely taken aback, I stood there momentarily stunned, trying to comprehend what I had done to warrant such hostility. "I just need to use the restroom," I managed to reply, my urgency palpable. "My husband's in line getting our pizza." Instead of showing any empathy, he retorted with an air of superiority, demanding that I should have stopped by the counter first. I was bewildered. There were no signs indicating a restroom policy, nor had anyone informed me that I needed to check in with him first. It felt incredibly disrespectful to be treated this way, especially when I was simply trying to meet a basic need, not to mention I was dealing with the challenges of being a new mother. His demeanor implied I had committed a grave offense, yet I was only seeking a moment of relief. I couldn't understand why he was acting this way--was he trying to assert authority over something that should be a matter of common decency? After a brief but distressing exchange, I opted to walk away rather than escalate it further. We left the establishment without our pizza. Instead, we decided to grab a cab and head home. On the ride back, I reflected on the incident. The cashier's attitude was not just rude; it was a reflection of someone who had perhaps lost sight of their role. Was he there to take orders or to act as a gatekeeper to basic needs? It was infuriating to think that someone could feel so entitled, wielding their position as a means to belittle others. That experience served as a reminder of how important respect and consideration are in customer service. Employees should be trained to handle situations with empathy, as rude and arrogant behavior can tarnish a business's reputation. It was unfortunate that a single employee could leave such a negative impression and tarnish our experience, potentially driving customers away. As we got home, I hoped that this incident would spur some sort of reflection or change within the management of that restaurant. No one should ever be made to feel insignificant or disrespected, especially over something as simple as...
Read moreOrdered online during the pandemic and food was ready on time. The garlic knots are Amazing! The pepperoni calzone is STUFFED with pepperoni, so heads up if you prefer a saucier calzone. The pizza was very good. Average for New York, but would be considered excellent in other parts of the country. Edit: We ordered here again. I had an online order, but when I walked into the store, there was nowhere to pick up orders. I tried to talk to one employee who wouldn't talk to me and just pointed to the front of the store to talk to someone else. I went to the front to talk to an employee who wasn't actively helping other customers, but he just interrupted the one employee interacting with customers about my order. They didn't care much for my name, just wanted to know what I ordered. Eventually he was able to instruct his co-employees how to help and I got out the door with my pizza and one of my two orders of garlic knots. The taco pizza was delicious, but it was very heavy on jalapeños and the cheese was slices of American cheese, not cheddar as advertised. I'm not going to change my review yet, but tonight's experience is the reason this wonderful food is being represented with 3.8 stars (at the...
Read moreI've been lucky enough to live pretty locally for all my life. When someone says go to the original Ray's, THIS ISN'T IT. My husband, son, and I went there this evening. We asked for simple pepperoni slices. "We don't have any." was the reply. Ok, so we asked for plain cheese. "We don't have any." was again the reply. So my husband for some strange reason took and paid for the pepperoni, bacon, chicken slices the guy was pushing as plain cheese slices were coming out of the oven. My husband said "I thought you didn't have any cheese." The guy said "we didn't." What kind of scam is this place running? They refuse to make new pizza or give you the pizza in the oven until they push their garbage slices that won't sell on you. So we tasted the disgusting slices and they were exactly that, garbage. The plain slices were not much better. $50 for 5 slices of pizza that tasted worse than any place in business should be allowed to serve. AVOID THIS GROSS ESTABLISHMENT AND GO...
