Update: I threw up from this food!!!. I knew I shouldn't have eaten it once I looked at it but I am tired of the money I waste in this neighborhood. This is the most disgusting food i have had since being in this neighborhood. You will not pay what the menu lists...your order will have a different price. I went in and specifically asked for thr 4.99 lunch special and said is it different from the 7.99 small meal...I was ignored...they suddenly can't hear and pick up the small 7.99 size. I ask for the 7.99 wings meal and im on a call so I'm watching but listening to my call. They ask if I want fried rice I say of course because it's a meal. When I get to the register they charge me literally 11.95. I say what's going on here and she says that the price like I'm asking a wierd question. Then I have to show them the menu and suddenly now I'm told the vegetable fried rice is separate...rice comes with the meal but since they didn't have any rice that day they supposedly only had veggie fried rice meanwhile she never went to the back where the regular rice and peas is....its only 130pm and no rice??..she tells me the veggie fried rice is an extra add on now I got 3 tiny little absolutely hideous gmo wings and I got the equivalent of a 5 dollar box of rice...the wings are old and you can tell they do the super seasoning trick to cover up.
The worse part is that I clearly explained what I wanted and they played like they were deaf and then talk to me like I'm acting funny that I went from asking about a 4.99 lunch special to being given a 7.99 wing meal that was changed by them to a wings and add on special fried rice meal because they didn't feel like making regular rice that day so without telling me you just tack on a whole almost 4 bucks as if it's my fault. This is why I don't deal with many small businesses in the Bronx...the ignorance the lack of quality the lack of customer service...none of rhese people are business minded AT ALL ...they dont know how to grow a following and dthats why it been teetering on going out of business for a few years...all the televisions and posters on the walls and music means nothing...it's a cash grab and the food is all gmo and meat almost expired. It's disgusting that these people try to squeeze the most out of eveey transaction rather than connect with customers and build a relationship ensuring growth. All these businesses operate in ways they wouldn't get away with or survive with outside of low income areas where they don't expect a mostly sedentary mindset... I can't even eat this chicken it's all fat and it looks like fried donut holes more than actual chicken. For 12 dollars i can go accross the street for chinese food and have a regular entree meal combo or i cam go to Lash and get chicken and waffles or a medium meal, this is pathetic. The fact that someone felt ok putting these things that don't look or smell like chicken in my tiny 12 dollar box says it all. This is my 3rd time trying anything from thos place in 2 years and its consistently a bait and switch and the quality is consistently underwhelming. I will never be back. Oh by the way...there is literally one single sliver of a green pepper in my rice and that's all...for an extra $3.85 they calling that veggie fried rice and making it separate add on when they feel like it. I was wondering why the girl was scooping the rice so carefully and now I know it's to make sure to be very mindful not to actually put veggies in the rice because they need them to be visible in the transparent display to sell you the idea of vegetable fried rice...as if that justifies it being a 4 dollar mandatory add on anytime you don't feel like providing what you are telling people you are selling them ...shyt is pathetic. I know they had the rice...they are just trying to squeeze a buck...its very typical...make the meal and then hit you with the switch and most likely you pay for it because it's already done and this is why their repeat customer rate is less than 30 percent of all other types of...
Read moreToo expensive for portion size. I paid 13.50 for a small container of lo mein and some kind of shrimp and fish in a cream sauce. Portions are not big enough for what you pay. And the menu is confusing and nothing is labeled despite being set up like a buffet. So it looks fresh and good, but it is under lamps and in heating containers to keep it hot. Altogether mostly noodles and maybe 6 little shrimp and a couple of bites of salmon with veggies. The lo mein was pre made as well in a bucket. The food was tasty but I may have had a reaction to it bc I felt bad later which is unusual for me, but I also ate a bunch of cookies…but I usually don’t feel bad after cookies. Anyway I may try it again if I can clearly see a menu and prices. I was hoping it would be 6.99 but nothing is labeled and you basically point to an item and ask for it. Through glass. The lady and I were shouting at each other bc I couldn’t hear her, and she didn’t hear me ask how much it was before and started making it up-so I just accepted my fate and paid 13.50 for a dish that should have been no more than 8$. Unfortunately, despite being pretty good, I won’t pay that again. And would return, if I can keep my price point to a reasonable amount. But I left feeling ripped off, or even wondered if I was being singled out for some reason. I couldn’t believe I paid 13.50 for a small container of food. I left feeling miffed. And I left thinking maybe the woman serving had prejudice against me and “made up” the price. Since as I said before nothing was labeled. Just out. I am actually glad other people overpaid as well so I was hopefully being paranoid. It doesn’t help a neighboring business tried to scam me out of 150$ worth of printmaking cards a day or two before. Anyway if I had any advice for this place. Make a real menu, label your items with prices clearly, lower your price point and people will come back. Instead people won’t return bc it’s not worth it and they can get food elsewhere that is better value and just as good or even better-made fresh...
Read moreLooka here this food is good. "Fried Rice" wasn't that Chinese restaurant rice we are used to. It's some type of yellow rice but with them seasonings and a scotch bonnet.
I wanted the (ITAL) Vegan Plate but they were sold out already at 5:30pm. Unfortunately...🥺
So I got.... Fried Red Snapper Rasta Pasta Fried Rice A bit of Veg Dumpling
They fry the snapper whole (seasoned just right) Rasta Pasta (good) Fried Rice is not the old school Chinese restaurant stuff. It tastes fresh, not that bottom of pan burnt stuff. Dumpling (Fried but not oily like Golden Crust, yet it was a little too doughy).
They make any combination of food that they have available.
Containers are small/medium.*
NO ATTITUDE!!! 🤯🤯🤯Good Customer Service !!!!!🤯🤯🤯
I know we all are used to being abused by the counter lady at Jamaican restaurants. You won't get that here.
Location is Burke Avenue right off of Williambridge Road....
