On our recent trip, my partner and I managed to find this quaint little café just a short walk away from the hotel on the first day and instantly loved it here. The outdoor seating was adorable, surrounded by some potted plants and a perfect spot to have brunch. I had the smoked salmon avocado cream cheese bagel, which was an interesting mix of flavors and textures. My partner just loved the hot matcha latte, which was perfectly done with such great balance between earthiness and sweetness. If there is something that makes this café stand above the rest, it is how fresh and quality-driven they are. Knowing they cold brew their coffee daily really piqued my interest; a love for coffee by the owner in every sip. The menu boasts great vegetarian and pescetarian options that really tend to several tastes without losing out on flavor. Their great options include vegan muffins and fresh French macarons-just a proof of how much they value the aspect of making options inclusive for all their guests. I just could not resist taking some pistachio macarons with me back home to Staten Island for my family-they were an instant hit! The ambiance of the café is so warm and cozy, with people greeting you in a friendly manner just to make you feel easy. It was promptly served with attention to our needs, which added to the overall experience. If I have to recommend anything, tuna avocado melt was amazing, truly flavorful and fresh, probably one of the best sandwiches I ever tasted. Great place, gluten-free-friendly. My mom and I were thoroughly excited with the gluten-free options, and the food was nothing less than brilliant. The lattes tasted rich and smooth, while the fruit given free with an order was a very nice gesture. Overall, this café is a great option when one wants to eat something good and at a reasonable price. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it is a spot that you will return to time and time again. Read moreLOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT...How awesome are their food choices and desserts. I ordered the avocado sandwich. The way the take out is presented is excellent. It's in a box with their sticker with the name to keep it sealed. The sandwich was wrapped very well, in fact I ate half and the other half later and it was stlll as tasty and "together" as the original half. You not only get a sandwich, they include an apple and a muffin with berries both are small enough to pack in the box and tasty. (You get a bonus treat which was wonderful surprise). There are two Broadway theaters one block East and all the other Broadway theaters are an easy walk to the restaurant. If you're going to Times Square to take in the sights go and get takeout. It's great to have and you'll find places on the streets adjacent to stop and eat.The staff is so friendly other customers came in and we all got the "you're special experience." It's Vegan with options that will satisfy "all food lovers." If you like desserts, they have ICE CREAM in more than a few flavors. It's the perfect place to go in the theater district for a tasty meal with great prices If you're on a budget and want a satisfying food experience with excellent quality. It's also the place to go If you were going to a fancy restaurant as an alternative...They have a good variety of dishes, actually really good choices. Their food doesn't disappoint and is very satisfying. I can't wait to go to another play or find myself nearby or not nearby. The first two letters of their name "UT" is perfect for "you too!" I highly...
Read moreHonestly it sits somewhere between a 3 and a 4. I would give it a 3.5. I’ve gone here twice now because I didnt want my first experience to determine if I give up on this place.
Actually they moved to a larger location from around the corner where it was a small place. That was my real first experience and that’s what got me hooked (that place may still be open but this review is for this place )
I have to say overall the staff has been good all the time. Always got a seat and always so nice.
My buggiest issue is whoever is working the bar. I got a dirty martini once that just is not that. And I had to send it back. First time in history doing that. My replacement drink was fine but I think avoid cocktails till they get a better mixologist back there - I think mamosas r ok
The food - first time felt forgettable. Loved the dumplings apps. But lacked a little more Kim Che flavor. I still took them home and ate them all tho.
The breakfast menu is 90 one item done a bunch of ways. I love a runny egg so not a big issue but hard to take a friend who doesn’t like eggs Benedict- in fact both friends I took didn’t like that. So interesting they base their entire speciality menu on this
The second time I went I had the zesty waffle and the tuna melt and honestly this is what won me back. Both items were pretty great and I recommend.
Overall I had high expectations. They are new so change is possible. Just some interesting choices were made and hope this review helps
I want to try their lunch and...
