Gata Golosa Astoria — Restaurant in New York

Ive been coming here for years since I was young. The food usually has lots of flavors and tastes good. The sauce is very flavorful also. There are some downsides though, the sauce seemed old and it looks very badly represented with a mere hot plastic cup cover. And the service is terrible! The waitresses barley speak any English at all and it's so annoying and difficult to communicate my order to them. When you ask a question, they have no idea what you're saying or asking! Also they keep sweeping next to my food, this happened three times already and it's unsanitary. Im not trying to be one of those complainy customers but 3 times is too many. Hopefully they get better and bilingual staff. Also one time I went there, they gave me a raw egg 3 times ! And no i do not mean runny, I mean completely raw. I sat down and waited almost an hour before someone took my order it was not busy at all. I had to go to the register and ask if they take orders at all from the table before someone came to help. I ordered a sampler and cheese arepa. The arepa was burnt with the cheese covering it. Hard as a rock and the sampler didn’t have much flavor at all the plantains were all stuck together and super dry. I do not recommend eating here the staff are rude and food is bland and burnt. Customer service was really terrible. Went inside to use the bathroom with the intent of purchasing a coffee. Came out the bathroom for them telling me no purchase below $10. Employee proceeded to give a back hand response “That’s why I don’t share my bathroom” responded with “Excuse me” just had a smirk on her face. Terrible restaurant staff on how to treat people.
