A heavy distaste for this place, you can deliver to 125 but not 131? It's not even a mile and straight line delivery. It's a decent place to get pizza but when I have to use doordash that upcharges me 10+ dollars for one pie (around 100 extra spent total) it becomes extremely frustrating, with not only that but the fact that most of the time doordash or uber will deliver you a destroyed pizza as shown here (around 5 times). And you might be wondering; why even still buy from this place? Because the pizza is good no question about it, me and my friends are stoners who hang out alot at my house, i am literally the prime customer here. Its so easy to just get a pizza and forget about it but these business policies are complete nonsense since most pizza places deliver 1-2 miles, and that's at the bare minimum. I would happily spend my money on this pizza but you guys don't give me the opportunity so I wish this place the best,

Few diner-style tables, counter with pizza pies, pictures of famous Italians like Al Pacino in his famous Scarface. Place does looks bulky and offering besides pizza - different Italian-pizzeria classics: pasta, etc. And pizza. Actually, pizza is good. Like not exceptional for the price (regular price is $3.25), but good. Pizza taste like a pizza, how it should be. It might still feeling overpriced, but. Pizza is good.

Crust was okay, sauce was okay, basil was not, and whatever this is, it is NOT a grandma pie. When you charge slightly more than other pizzerias in the area, you gotta make sure your product is fresh and top quality. Sadly, this was not the case. We ordered through Slice.

I had good food from Giovanni's earlier this week, and decided to reorder, despite a major delivery issue.

The first delivery, I asked to be texted and I would meet the delivery person in the lobby. Last time, I got no text, and the delivery person banged on my door (which had a huge sign that read DO NOT KNOCK ON THE DOOR - text or call me.) The dog barked for 15 minutes and my building's manager was furious for the disturbance late at night.

This time I called the restaurant after placing my order to make sure that the directions were understood. It made no difference.

The delivery appeared 25 minutes after the order time, while Grubhub said 45 minutes to 1 hour. The app did not update for 2 hours for both deliveries, saying it was currently "being prepared."

I asked again to be texted and I would meet in the lobby (directions for the driver on Grubhub.) Today, I even called the restaurant, and spoke to a man who guaranteed that the problem would not be repeated. Today, I got a phone call (not a text) saying they were in front of my door, and why wouldn't I open the door for the delivery. They knocked on the wrong door, once again, ignoring the directions to text and wait in the lobby. This time, the person who the delivery person disturbed is a quiet, elderly person who rightfully didn't answer the door, because they had ordered nothing. They were woken from being asleep, and complained to the building management.

The disturbance from these deliveries endangers my housing. I called the restaurant afterward, and they stated "we'll take care of it." How do you do take care of people not knocking on doors after the disturbance happens? The restaurant person was patronizing and dismissive.

I will not order from them again. I was going to just not get deliveries from them, and order for pickup, because the food was good, but the way I was treated on the phone was also unacceptable.

Restaurants go out of business for many reasons. Bad food is usually a factor, but that isn't the case with Giovanni's. What is unacceptable and inexcusable is being ignored when asking for small requests for the specifics of delivery (which would have saved the delivery person time and effort,) and then being dismissed when it doesn't happen and you call about it. I don't patronize establishments who are rude and dismissive to their customers, and neither should you.

You are the customer. Demand respect in order for an establishment to retain your business, and if they will not comply with being respectful to you, there are literally thousands of restaurants in NYC that want/need your business, and will treat you with respect to maintain...

Sadly I am giving 1 star. The food is good but their staff is rude and uneducated for the industry. I ordered the chicken francese and the chicken parmigiana (almost $50 total), and I asked them to please replace my pasta side with penne with garlic and olive oil instead of the marinara sauce. The guy on shift today 12/3/21 at 3pm told me that they couldn’t do the change and that I had to pay $6 extra. Really?!! Olive oil and garlic are more expensive than marinara sauce?!!! Where?!! I asked for a manager and he told me that the owner didn’t care about that and he couldn’t be bothered with nonsense. WOW! I’ve worked in the restaurant industry before, and this one of the reasons a lot of restaurants loose clientele. To the owner if you read please, train your staff to have a better customer service, and when you do please let me know. I would like to enjoy your food without an attitude from your...
