We made reservations at this restaurant as we were having dinner before a show and some of the reviews mentioned that the service was slow. Turns out we didn't need them. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated almost immediately. The place as an Irish Pub feel with a long bar down one wall and high booths and booth/bench combinations along the other. There is more dining area in the back which appeared to have standard size tables. We were given the option of staying in the bar area or sitting in the back. We stayed in the bar.
The bar was about half full and some of the patrons seemed to be regulars. Listening to the bartender and his Irish accent was a treat for me. The waitress, unfortunately, I didn't get her name, was prompt. While she was getting our drinks, which were mixed very nicely (not too much or too little alcohol), we looked through the menu. It's mostly burgers and Irish fair, which is a treat for us. We don't have a good Irish place where we live.
We ordered the nachos as an appetizer. They are proper nachos, not the new trend of giving you 6 tortilla chips with stuff on each chip. We also had the jalapenos on the side as my son like's them but I don't. The order was perfect and it came out warm. We were just finishing up the nachos when dinner arrived.
I had the bangers and mash. It was perfectly cooked and still steaming when it came out. it was almost to hot to eat. It was a huge portion and I was only able to eat about half of it. My one, and only issue, with the food is that there was a ton of gravy covering the mashed potatoes. My bangers were literally swimming.
We had a little extra time after dinner so my husband and son ordered dessert and I chatted with the waitress about things we could do before the theater opened. The waitress was really friendly and once you get her talking she has a lovely accent as well. I can't say enough how impressed I was with all of the staff. Everyone was friendly and efficient. As soon as we were finished eating a course, a gentleman came and clear the table as he exchanged pleasantries. We never felt rushed to finish.
The restaurant did get busier as the night went on but it was never really packed. Of course, it was early on a Saturday and I can easily picture the place being slammed if there is a big game on. This is the type of place that I could see being my "neighborhood pub" if I lived...
Read morei came for dinner today with a large group, we had pre ordered our meals. I pre ordered a cheeseburger but i am gluten intolerant so before it arrived i asked if the buns could be replaced with lettuce and the staff said no since my meal was pre ordered, which makes absolutely no sense because they have a kitchen with lettuce and they could have easily given it to me especially knowing the circumstances. mind you the cheese burger had no cheese. I had to pay a premium to reserve a spot and i couldn’t even enjoy my meal. the food came out freezing cold as well as everyone else’s meal so im assuming the meals had been sitting there for quite some time. i asked for some lemon for my water which also was not an option for me according to staff. They have a bar, i’m sure there was lemon somewhere in the restaurant. my friend ordered there penne pasta, came cold no parmesan and an extremely hard burnt piece of bread. our meals came late because they were unorganized and didn’t prepare enough dishes even tho it was pre ordered. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed and it’s a shame that i had pre payed or i would have left the minute they weren’t able to provide me what i needed. Everyone immediately had a stomach ache after consuming the food and that’s most likely because it sat out and i had to eat cold meat. I ended up getting to my hotel room and got extremely sick. We received ice cream for dessert and unfortunately it was freezer burnt and fizzy??? i feel terrible for leaving such a terrible review but for someone that has grown up with a family buisness and knows how to run a buisness this is absolutely not acceptable and i definitely will not be coming back. The staff were kind and tried their best but other than that it truly was an...
Read moreI was rudely assulted by the manager named Kiran. Shortly after being seated and as the waiter had come to clean the table he accused him of "chit chatting" and wasting his time with me when there were 2 other white male customers waiting for their drinks, according to Mr. Kiran. When I told him that the waiter was simply cleaning the table, he felt corrected & attacked and asked me to leave by saying, "I think its best if you leave!" When I started recording him, and I asked him again if he wanted me to leave he quickly changed his story and said he was simply trying to get my drink order because the waiter had only been working here for 2 weeks, which is a lie since the waiter had already told me he had been working at Gossip for 3 months! I felt I was racially profiled by Mr. Kiran as he had made it his business to keep his clientele mostly white (picture attached). Kiran said to me "I just dont want you to get their (other 2 white customers) drinks before you do!" To which again I corrected him and responded, "how can I get my drink first when I haven't even ordered it?!?" As a neighbor & resident of Hell's Kitchen I strongly suggest that this establishment be investigated for racial profiling &...
