HOME AWAY FROM HOME! I just loved this hotel and all the people in it! I spent a wonderful week in NYC and stayed at Skyline Hotel. It was convenient to everything; two blocks from the Hudson River and many things to do there. More than anything else, the wonderful people at Skyline saw to my every need and treated me like family. By the time I left, I knew many of the people there by first names.
Elena V. helped me with a new room during a trying time with travel companions. She was compassionate and brought me a cup of water and a hug. It was caring above and beyond her job. She's an outstanding human being.
Maureen, Concierge, helped me with a dinner cruise and used her personal credit card to secure the cruise when I was unavailable to okay a minor price increase. Trusting soul, she left me a note to reimburse her before I left. Who does that these days! That's above and beyond any job requirement anywhere.
Lillianna, the other wonderful concierge, helped me numerous times with taxis, places to eat, theater and cruises. She was so warm and friendly.
I had minor problems with air conditioning and the maintenance staff at Skyline saw to it immediately.
The bellmen helped me with a laundry delivery and securing my bags after checkout. I had several hours between checkout and my flight. The hotel was kind enough to secure my bags in the luggage room while I waited to leave for the airport.
The housekeeping staff, saw to every need and spoke to me every time they saw me making sure that I felt welcome.
The hotel restaurant provided excellent service as well. I loved the ice there and they never complained that I filled and refilled my ice bucket and cups! Wonderful meals, live music and great service too!
Mr. Hurewitz, hotel manager, must be a wonderful person to have all these people working in unison to provide the excellent care and welcome homey feeling I received while staying at Skyline.
I highly recommend Skyline. I will definitely stay there again. Great rooms, great price, great location and most of all wonderful people! Not enough stars to rate Skyline and my friends there!

Read moreWe booked the Skyline through Expedia which had very good reviews. When we arrived we were told the Executive King bed room we booked wasn’t available so we were being upgraded to a two king bed suite. We were also told the restaurant permanently closed a week ago and all guests were sent an email, which we did not receive. The closest restaurant suggestion for breakfast was a 10 minute walk, not ideal. When we got up to our “Suite” we found two queen size beds not King ones. After calling down to the front desk and being told we were wrong and that they were Kings we were transferred to the Manager who also tried telling us they were Kings. The Manager then called back and used the excuse that the housekeeping staff hadn’t informed her that the King beds were in fact removed and replaced with Queens.... You’re the hotel Manager and you have no idea what’s going on?!?! We were then told to bring our luggage all the way back down to exchange our room keys to get keys to the new room which had king beds. Due to the lack of restaurant we decided to order pizza from the ad in the Hotels Magazine. When the pizza delivery guy arrived we were called by the front desk and told we had to come down to the lobby to collect the pizza because it was hotel policy that the delivery man couldn’t go up to the room... why order pizza and pay for delivery if you have to walk the 5 mins down to the front lobby... I would’ve walked the extra 3 mins to the pizza place and saved the delivery charge. After collective my pizza I expressed my frustration to the front desk staff who stated they were sending the Manager an email with my concerns and she would reach out to me, they then provided me with her card. The next day I had not heard from the Manager so twice I stopped by the front desk and asked to speak with her, both times being told she was busy but would get back to me. I then sent her an email and still with no reply and telling her I would leave these negative reviews I am now doing so. The hotel was clean and convenient location, but the lack of restaurant and poor customer service was the reason we will never stay...
Read moreThis is by far the worse hotel so gross, worse place I have ever stayed at, for one the front Desk Clark are they most ruthless people ever, didnt even greet you. 2. The hotel was under construction and the website mentioned nothing about it. There was a mess all over which I took picture if. 3 there was no cable in the room, I called front desk they sent someone that had no idea what he was doing. They said they would fix it in the morning, left for the day came back, and it was still not working, called front desk again they said they were unable to fix it. Told me they could move us to another room, after a long day of walking in New York, the last thing you want to come to the hotel is pack up to move rooms. 4. You could hear the train going in the middle of the night, the sirens going as if your windows were open. 5. the vacuums were going right next to our door at like 7ish-8 in the morning. 6. All hotel that we have ever stayed at in NY, will let you store your suitcases at the hotel until it's time for pickup and time to head out to catch your flight. With no charge. This hotel charges you to store them for a couple of hours. 7. The hotel smell horrible and smelled like gas/propane made me sick. 8. The pictures look nothing like the hotel pool is so nasty the paint was peeling off, just gross. I have alot more to say but I will leave it at that. The stay was not at all pleasant and with the Front desk people so rude and their bad attitude made the stay uninviting, if I could have been able to find an other hotel in that short time I would have left that hotel in a heart beat. DO NOT STAY...
