This was the worst experience that I ever had in a hotel and I wasn’t even asking for much, I understand that hotels in this City are mostly a place to sleep and shower While the rest of the day you enjoy the city, but this one couldn’t even achieve a good experience with those two simple things. The shower in our room didn’t even had a door or a shower curtain, meaning that every time we took a shower the whole bathroom got wet, and they didn’t even give us a rug or anything, it was like showering in the whole bathroom, the floor was wet EVERY DAY. Even though we had housekeeping every day, they kept taking things away for our room, like towels and blankets, luckily we had towels to use but not blankets, which we had to ask for at the front desk TWICE in our 4 day trip, the guy there told us that he couldn’t give us one because “the housekeeping people were not in the hotel anymore”, are the blankets hidden somewhere and the staff working there doesn’t know?? People working during the night shift aren’t supposed to be in charge of those type of things and know where the things are in the place WHERE THEY WORK AT?? Because I don’t understand what would be the problem accommodating such an small request if it was an issue THEY caused, because of that we were forced to sleep the whole night without a blanket and only being able to cover us with our own clothes, in the morning when, supposedly, the housekeepers now were there, they finally gave us one, and when we took it to our room the thing was COVERED in stains, we went down again to talk with the front desk lady and she didn’t care or even apologized to us, she just told us that they would give us new ones later when they clean the rooms. And if that wasn’t enough, when we were checking out we asked if it was okay to leave out bags at the front desk while we were out, we asked this because we have stayed at hotels that offer that service, if they would us “No” we could have brought our bags with us, or maybe if they told us any kind of specific information we could have made a decision in that moment, but that wasn’t the case, the same lady from the blanket issue told us that it was okay and we could leave them at the lobby, she didn’t tell us anything else, matter of fact she stoped acknowledging us and started talking to another costumer while our interaction still wasn’t finished, so we left the bags where she told us and we left, at the time we came back the bags were not in the same place where they were when we left them, apparently someone from the hotel had them and told us that we had to pay a fee because we couldn’t “just leave the bags there” when that was EXACTLY what the receptionist told us, I went to talk with this other front desk guy about the misunderstanding THEY HAD with us and I told him that the person that talked with us didn’t mention anything about a fee or any special instructions, and the only thing he told me was “Oh she should have told you, I don’t know why she didn’t”, is this really the way managers are training their staff? to be as incompetent as they are? This is the worst costumer service of ever had in my entire life, the only thing this hotel has that is good is the location, everything else is disappointing and disgusting if I’m being honest, from something as simple as a blanket, to that ridiculous attitude everyone had with us, we’re are paying to stay there, they are not doing us a favor or giving us the room for free, is a service they are offering and we are purchasing that service the least we except is some decency from the staff.
And for manager and owners, I hope you get people that are actually trained to do their job and know what the word “HOSPITALITY” means, that’s the whole business you have and you are doing a terrible job at it. Hire other people, get staff that knows how to actually do their job, again, we are paying, we except at least for employees to be decent human beings while interacting with costumers.
Attached you will find the photos of the blanket they were expecting us...
Read moreI had a great stay here, an important part of my NYC trip! This hotel, while not perfect, doesn't deserve some of the crap it gets from many reviews. I'll start with the positives. The location is top notch if you're there for NYC, Times Square, Broadway. We saw a Broadway show, and the time from sitting in my room to sitting at the show, about 5-10 minutes. Right around the corner from excellent shops, restaurants, and bars. The relatively quiet little street the hotel sits on is perfect for catching a cab or being dropped off. There's even a little sitting park right across the street if you need to take a smoke or just sit in some fresh air. Attached to the hotel is a nice Asian restaurant, which is more or less the "room service food" for the hotel except you have to pick it up. Good food though.
The room was clean, and hats off to the cleaning service. They are on time, fast, and thorough. I had heard the service was "rude". They're anything but. Maybe they have a "New York gruffness" that may shock a tourist, but anything I asked for they made moves to make it happen. I asked for extra towels and blankets and they're in my hands before I finish my sentence. I didn't see a single bug anywhere. Bathroom water got hot super fast, but it was a bit strange the shower was half open with no door to "enclose" it. Mad water splash on the floor.
Okay, now for the bad. Yes, the elevator is cramped and slow, and there's usually a wait for it. God help you if you're on the 15th floor. I was on the third, so I took the stairs, much faster and good exercise.
No complimentary breakfast served. I was told to "walk outside, there's places everywhere" but I don't wanna go across the street and pay $11 for a small coffee and $9 for a bagel. The hotel don't have to make bacon and eggs, but I'd settle for a cup of coffee, hot water for tea, and some bread. That's it. Fill you up compliments of the hotel so you can go about your day. My wallpaper was peeling off the corner before I got there, and I was worried they'd blame me for it. The TV worked fine (you can move and angle the TV, which was cool), over 100 channels with 2 or 3 that don't work, and no on screen guide to let you know what was coming on next. Had to go old school channel surfing.
Here's a big one: AC in my room wasn't working. I let the desk know, 20 minutes later a maintenance man is there "yup it's broken. it needs this and that. I'll see about getting you a window unit in the meantime, and while we wait on that let me crack a window for you, ok?" Ok, we do that, weather is fine so it's not unbearable in there and we're gone most of the day and all that. Two days later still no fixed AC and no window unit either. Stuck like that till check out. I let the manager know, and we got a decent discount for the trouble. Again, fair people I think.
Over all I say a 3.5 out of 5, but I'm happy to go 4 to offset some of the 1s out there. A review I read before summed it best: "if you're not a delicate little snowflake, it's fine." I'd say it's more than fine, it's...
Read moreStay: 5/29/25 - 6/01/25. Deluxe Twin/Twin Room Pros: The location is fantastic! It lies in the heart of the theatre district. Literally a 7-10 minute walk to most of the theatres, Times Square and the subway. Especially helpful if there is incremental weather. The front desk staff were very courteous, helpful and professional. The housekeeping staff was also very helpful & attentive. The mattresses were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. A nice medium size chest of drawers for your belongings. The WiFi connection was excellent and fast. The water pressure was adequate and shower hot. Both the a/c unit and heater worked very well. Delicious Wolfgang Puck coffee pods. Clean lobby bathrooms! There is a nice inexpensive to moderately priced Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel lobby. Our meal was quite enjoyable and the service was very good. Both the hotel and eatery is good bang for your buck.
Cons: Most of the electrical outlets in the room would not hold the plugs for our devices. They kept falling out the sockets. We had to "gerry rig" in order for them to stay plugged in. . The bathroom exhaust fan was inoperable. The bathroom door handle was loose and almost coming off of the door. The bathroom hook on the back of the door was missing. So no place to hang our damp towels. No trashcan in the bathroom. Although not an issue for the shower, recommend running bathroom sink for a few seconds. No iron nor ironing board in the closet. The housekeepers took items from another room and gave to us. 1 of the 2 bed lamps did not work. No safe. No small fridge to store food or water. Not 100% as pictured. There was no desk and chair in the room for a work space, which was needed. If the booking is a courtyard unit, be aware that the view is of a tarp covering a large pile of dirt and the exterior of the building. (not an issue to us) Some may find some of the rooms small. The elevators are very slow and one of the three was inoperable. Inconvenient when hotel is very busy and/or your tired. Luckily we were on the 2nd floor & could use the stairwell
Outside of the cons, all in all a great stay. Perhaps if our stay was a bit longer; say a week or two. The inconveniences/cons may have been an issue. However, we were pretty much on the move during our stay and hit the ground running. So we just required a quality, safe and comfortable place to rest. We got a quality nights sleep and the rooms were quiet. For the value based traveler I'd recommend if nothing for the location and staff. We would...
