Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I just couldnāt. I came here an approximately a week ago to celebrate my momās birthday with a seafood boil and it was very disappointed. When I saw the prices for the seafood combo I wasnāt too surprised or anything because weāre in NY and NY restaurants love up-charge people and itās close in price to what most seafood places also charge but what got me was the service fee which brought our price up astronomically. That being said, it wasnāt too much of an issue for the service fee being charged automatically, because workers need to be paid for their work and that means I donāt have to tip large. As for the seafood boil, I really didnāt enjoy it at all because it didnāt have that strong Cajun flavor that I was hoping to get. For me, the flavors weren't strong at all and it tasted extremely mild. Ordering a mild really does mean a mild, like absolutely no spice at all!! Another thing that I didnāt really like was how small the portions were, Iāve ordered seafood boil in other places and couldnāt get through half the bag but with the 1lb shrimp and 1lb crawfish combo my mom and I finished fast because it was a small portion. Overall, I think this restaurant isnāt worth the extreme hype it gets, but I will say the staff was genuinely nice and welcoming to my mom and I but the food didnāt give what I expected it to give at all. If youāre in NY and youāre REALLY craving some seafood boil and no other places were around then sure I would definitely check this place out but donāt expect that strong Cajun flavors youād find out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my second time going here. We decided to come here a second time because the first time, during summer, was a 10/10. From the great Happy hour options to the amount of food and the service was great.
However, last night going back, it was not the same. They were charging extra 6$ per each side to add to the bag that other boil places would just give with no extra charge. One of the add-on sides was extra sauce?? Which i have never even heard of? I decided not to get the extra sauce because I would assume it would be saucy enough, like a boil bag usually is. But no, it was the most driest boil bag i ever had. the sauce was completely absorbed and they were very stingey with the amount of sauce in the bag. we ended up having to get extra sauce because our meal was so dry and they gave a boil sauce in the tiniest ketchup container. Our total at the end ended up being way more than I have ever really spent at a boil, given my friends and I initially loved this place because of its affordable options s, how generous their deals was and their flavor.
I must say the service here is great and the ladies who work here are super nice. maybe itās the upper management? or whoever decides to change all the good options on the menu but they have just become so stingey here with the options i donāt know why. this place was going to become our go to boil place, we are...
