I went to this theatre with my husband to watch "Chicago" in celebration of our 10th anniversary and, even though the performance was absolutely amazing, an employee named Leonard completely ruined our night. During intermission, he came to me in na authoritarian mood, pointing and saying "You need to leave". Apparently, I was staying in a place where part of the staris was being blocked – which I completely understand. My point is that he shouldn’t be talking to me as if I was some sort of criminal. When I pointed out that, on the other side of the bar, the line of people was already completely blocking the stairs, he just replied "That's not my problem because I'm not in charge of that other area, but I'm in charge of this area and YOU have to leave". At that point, he was already raising his voice, so people started looking at us. I can't stress enough how disappointed I am in being treated this way. I have to say that I was wearing a yellow turban that night, so it was pretty obvious to everyone I was a foreigner - and I really think his reprimand was so aggressive because he saw me as a foreigner. I couldn't even get his full name. I only saw his first name was Leonard, but then he covered his badge when I tried getting his surname (and again started yelling "Why do you want my name"?). Again, people started looking at us. I felt discriminated against and humiliated. Not to mention powerless. The only thing I can do is make bad reviews on every single possible platform to advise people to think twice before going to the Ambassador – particularly if you’re a foreigner wearing...
Read moreBetter than I expected. After recently seeing The Lion King and thinking that was one of the finest theatres I'd seen, I was prepared for this to be one of the worst. We arrived early and the security guys were friendly enough, everyone we encountered inside was beyond friendly. We had Broadway Week tickets for the Fri night show which was packed from what I saw. We were last row center end of front mezzanine. The view was perfect except for this potato head sitting in front of me so I watched most of the show between the railing and his head. Sometimes I had to look to the right side of him, nobody was behind me so I liked not having knees hitting my seat. I would expect the best seats near us were the front row ends of center section. For the price paid, I think we did fine with the seat selection we had. Emma Pittman was Roxie and I wasn't thrilled with the idea of an understudy but I don't know that it could have been more enjoyable. She was wonderful in the role. I was happy to find out there were bathrooms upstairs though limited and I went before and after the show. Someone from our row tried at intermission and came back when he saw the line. Getting out is slow going, there is just one merchandise stand which we hit on the way in but people stop and block the path when everyone is trying to leave. They are even wishing you well on...

Actors and Performances Roxie’s portrayal was underwhelming—she lacked the presence and vocal power the role demands. Velma, on the other hand, was excellent both physically and vocally. The biggest letdown, though, was Billy Flynn. Anyone familiar with Chicago knows how crucial his character is, especially in the iconic scene where Billy speaks for Roxie without moving his lips. Even the narrator emphasized that the audience should watch Billy’s lips. Unfortunately, his mouth was moving the entire time, completely ruining a critical moment. It was a major disappointment and the main reason I’m giving this show 2 stars.
Theater Experience The theater itself is quite small, and the restroom situation for women was a nightmare. The lines were incredibly long, and many women couldn’t even use the restroom during intermission because the wait extended beyond the break.
Overpriced Food and Drinks The prices for food and beverages were exorbitant. A double-shot cocktail was $38, and the snacks and drinks were similarly overpriced.
Ticket Delivery Issues Despite the email promising digital tickets, I didn’t receive them, even on the day of the show. I had to arrive at the theater hours before the performance just to pick up the tickets from...
