Greenberg's Bagels on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, is a bagel lover's paradise. I had the pleasure of visiting in August 2022, and it was an experience worth raving about.
My choice that day was the ham, egg, and cheese bagel, and it was nothing short of amazing. The bagel itself was fresh, with that perfect outer crunch and soft, chewy interior that you expect from a top-notch bagel joint. The combination of ham, egg, and cheese was both flavorful and satisfying, hitting all the right notes.
One thing that stood out was the friendly and efficient service. Even during the morning rush, the staff managed to serve customers with a smile and a sense of urgency. It's clear they take pride in delivering a great experience.
The ambiance is that of a classic neighborhood bagel shop. It's a place where locals gather for their morning fix, creating a warm and communal atmosphere.
Greenberg's Bagels' location on Bedford Avenue adds to its appeal. It's in the heart of Brooklyn, making it a convenient stop for both residents and visitors exploring the area.
In conclusion, Greenberg's Bagels is a must-visit in Brooklyn if you're a bagel enthusiast. Whether you're grabbing breakfast on the go or sitting down for a relaxed meal, the quality and taste are consistently outstanding. My August 2022 visit left me with a strong craving to return for more of their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never do this and as someone who has worked in food service in Brooklyn for many years, I hate to do this. This was the worst bagel I have ever had in New York. I was in town for a super brief work trip and was staying nearby. Needed a good New York bagel so desperately, and was willing to shell out for a lox bagel.
Never known a spot to have gravlax so I went for it. Beet horseradish cc, cucumber.. sign me up! Almost $18 but again, I was gonna treat myself. I'm not trying to be funny, but I don't think I can legally say that the bagel was even a bagel. I asked for egg everything, what I got was possibly a whole wheat everything and like whatever maybe they ran out. That didn't bother me. What bothered me was the texture, the crumb of the bagel.. it was bread.
The shmear was a swipe of pink cc. There was no beet horseradish flavor and it was such a thin swipe which did nothing to help the bread-bagel. The gravlax itself was fine, one slice whatever but the cost of this bagel vs the volume of ingredients was not adding up. Cucumber, a few thin slices. I ate it because I was hungry and wasn't going to insult the $21 (!!) grand total after tax and tip (as a food service vet, I tip almost always). But yikes, man. What was that? :( Great idea for a bagel sandwich... which I will recreate at home for half the retail price and double the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm wheat intolerant ā they gave me a whole wheat everything bagel instead of a gluten free bagel and now I'm feeling sick and terrible on new year's eve. š I'm going to try to force myself to throw it up so it doesn't ruin the next few days for me. it's pretty terrible to be so careless with someone's order when they need the gluten-free option.
my friend ordered for delivery: a BEC on a gluten free everything for me and an egg and cheese on a regular everything bagel for him -- our bagels looked different (mine was darker), but I assumed that was because mine was gluten free! the sandwich packaging wasn't marked, but the receipt said the BEC was gluten-free. I should have double checked (although I tried calling five times after I ate the bagel to make sure they hadn't added a new GF flavor, and no one answered). my friend also ordered an extra gluten free everything bagel for me to take home.
I ate my sandwich and thought it was pretty decent for gluten free, then opened the foil covering the extra bagel and saw it looked totally different and felt really hard and dry. Then the reaction started... looking through Instagram and menu photos confirmed they had given me a whole wheat everything instead.
thanks for ruining my new year's eve and new year's day,...
