Grill House — Restaurant in New York

If you find yourself near this quiet, immigrant enclave corner of Morris Park in the Bronx, not far from the Bronx Zoo, and feeling in need of some falafel, head for The Grill House at 1991 Bronxdale Avenue. The Grill House really fits the description of a hole-in-the-wall, with only four tables. But oh my goodness, what fine Middle Eastern food. It has all the standards - kebabs, falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, chicken, eggplant, gyro, salads, etc. I usually go with their substantial falafel sandwich which is pretty much as good as you will find in New York City. You can get that with spicy fries and a soda for about $6.00 – a real deal. Other plates generally come with rice and salad, as usual. All orders are placed at the small counter. You can take out or eat in. Halal, and a gem for Middle Eastern cuisine. Very friendly proprietors. I have had 3 experiences with this restaurant.

The first time food came with no issue, taste was great, great price I ordered and the delivery time kept getting pushed until 2 hours after my order, when it was cancelled. I found out through email. When I called, the restaurant said seamless had not sent a delivery driver. That's fine, but this restaurant offers delivery and yet they made no effort to have the food delivered. Today, I tried to give this place another shot, but when I called to place the delivery, they said they don't deliver to my address and hung up. I live 5 minutes away. That doesn't make any sense.

The food is good but way over priced and bad customer service. The owner gave me a price on an order I wanted to place and I made a face after hearing the price. The owner started to tell me to order from a halal cart since I thought his price was too high which I thought was rude. I’ve ordered from them in the past but their prices have gone up too much, there are other middle eastern spots close by with better prices the same quality and a wider selection.
