I've walked by this place countless times, but today was the first time I went in to try it out. I was not very impressed. My girlfriend ordered their grilled cheese sandwich, while I ordered the BLT and a small drip coffee. Somehow, the total came out to $29 and ballooned to $35 after tip (their lowest option on-screen was 20%, despite not being a full-service restaurant). We sat waiting for about 40-minutes. Enough time to do the Sunday crossword, witness the staff spill a drink on a customer, and take in the paintings that decorate the walls–which are all for sale and make a very good case for AI-generated art. When we finally got our food it wasn't bad, but certainly not worth the inflated price considering the small portion size. I don't think I'll be returning any time soon, and could not recommend Gunther's to others.

But I feel completely scammed out of my $5. Also the staff always has an attitude. ALWAYS. I live in this neighborhood, so I’ve stopped by a few times and honestly, the staff is utterly miserable no matter how polite you are.
