The Seneca has really done a lot to endear themselves to the neighborhood, and they’ve only been around about a year. They have delicious, eclectic food that they’re constantly switching up and experimenting with. They have great cocktails, a superb beer and wine selection, and a really respectably stocked bar. They also function as a great cafe during the day with excellent brunch fare, coffee and wifi. The space is large and beautiful, and you can always hear the person you’re talking to. It’s a relaxing and fun spot day and night that has become a go-to for me and my wife.
But the main thing I wanted to write this review about is what they did for my wife and I for our wedding rehearsal dinner. We had wanted to do something with the Seneca, as it’s one of our favorite local spots and we were trying to keep everything in the neighborhood. What we were expecting was to piece together a dinner for our family with the stuff they had on the regular menu, and to set up a simple bar tab - but Corey and his team went so far above and beyond to make the dinner truly special. They sat down with us to figure out exactly what kind of food and wine we were into, and designed a menu based around that and our budget. What came out the other end was really fantastic. I even suspect some of the stuff they came up with for our event ended up on the regular menu.
In short: really good food, delicious drinks, chill vibes, and an amazing team working there. Go there to eat, go there to drink, but most of all talk to them about doing your next event because they absolutely...
Read moreY'all-- I've been a regular at The Seneca since it opened.
They have never had enough staff to handle serving more than one person at a time. Staff is less than enthusiastic to be working-- they're never multi-tasking, they'll go pick up a hot sauce bottle from one end of the space to the other and do absolutely nothing else inbetween that walk, then they'll go play on their phone.
If you feel like you're not getting paid well by your manager, and expect people to fill the gaps with tips, and then work like entitled teenagers, ya of course ur not getting paid well.
the food has been getting COLDER. Literally, a burger will come out cold-- y'all even throw it on the grill or what?
their roof is collapsing, they allow animals inside, and they are over-priced....
Read moreI’m writing this review from inside The Seneca, not quite done with the most disappointing dining experience I’ve had in (recent… maybe not even) memory. Not only are the portions better suited to prices half that of those listed - smash burgers are hard to mess up and there’s no realm in which this one should cost $14 - but the staff forgot to put in several of our food & drink orders along the way. The waiter-recommended sesame chopped salad amounted to little more than a sad mid-week Trader Joes pre-cut and portioned mixed salad. The $12 wing order comes with but five wings seasoned with… you didn’t guess it because it shouldn’t happen, OREGANO and some sad, vaguely BBQ sauce. The folks working here are friendly enough, but do yourself a favor and walk...
