Gyro Hut — Restaurant in New York

As of last year this used to be my 'go to' spot for lamb gyros. The food is great, their lamb gyro's never disappoint. The meat is cooked just right and it is seasoned so well. It's the best gyro. But the customer service needs major improvement. It's unfortunate to say, but my recent visits to Gyro Hut ( today 8/27/20 and last year 7/19) just left me annoyed and strengthened my resolve to never go here again. Today, was the first time I visited this place since the previous year. On my last visit, the person at the register left his post unattended and a long line was formed. When he came back it was my turn to order. He said next customer, I walk up to the counter and before I can open my mouth to state my order he looked annoyed tells me to hurry up. I can take a joke, but this guy was serious. I stood there waiting for him to say 'I'm joking' he didn't . I didn't say anything to him I just left and went across the street to Gyro King (it's meh). Today I decided to give this place another chance. When I went there was no line, I place my order, I wanted two lamb gyros. The attending only made one gyro even though I repeatedly told him I wanted two. He didn't even ask what I wanted in the gyro he just started putting stuff in it. Again I brought up that I also ordered a second gyro. He says 'second gyro?', he doesn't make it and proceeds to tell me the price of the one that I bought. I just paid for it and left. I understand it doesn't make sense to bring up something that occurred last year in a recent review, but I feel that the two times I visited this place they just...

I just relaized today that I am a local guide. When did that happen? Lol Hi! So this is an edited review update from last year. I prefer hospitality along with food or else the food doesn't taste good. I finally came across the owner Mr.Aslam. Allah made ammends I finally met him, his service hospitality made up for the previous last encounter with a last year employee. Owner was behaving like a gem of a human. Ofcourse! I come back and forth always cause of the food. This is my favorite fish spot on sabbath/jummua. They also have the best chicken tikka and mixed platter. This is the best grilled spot for flavors of lamb, fish and chicken cooked in a south asian style. 4 stars is for the FOOD and incl. Hospitality of the owner. Lost a star only because, its a dhaba styled restaraunt, no seating place or else the food is my most favorite spot anywhere really. When they have a seating styled restaurant I can give them 7 stars not...

Asalamu Alykum. Gyro hut is relatively a good spot to chow down on but the workers there are very uneasy. I'm pretty sure if you're a customer you expect to be treated with the up most respect and also great costumer service. I've been going here for 4 years and all the time I order my food and they get to the salad bar selection they're very stingy (unwilling to give or ungenerous). Cause if you're spending your hard earn money at a place all the time cause you genuinely like eating there but they don't give you what you ask for how is that good customer service? Come on very poor customer service 6/10.
