I live in the neighborhood and I have been going to the Cortelyou Branch for many years. I have seen staff leave and then new addition will come. The branch is very busy, especially after 2:30 pm. P.S. 139 is adjacent to the Cortelyou Branch. As a result, the branch is crowded with kids and other community members who are using the computers, reading, studying or attending a program. Due to the increased foot traffic, the branch becomes noisy. The morning hours are the best time to visit the branch. It is extremely quiet, peaceful, calm and welcoming. Then today, unfortunately she’s the only one sitting there again. She waits until she was done talking with her friend about what they bought at Whole Foods before acknowledging me. I asked my question, she was rude and dismissive, no explanation given, just went right back to her...
