This bar is local to my family, they bragged for a while on the experience so I gave it a go. Walked in on a Saturday night and in a nutshell I got a sketchy vibe from the employees. The security guard that night took my ID and started grilling me about my information. I didn’t pull out my credit cards to help him make an intelligent decision because I am not even close to an age range to play games and he needs to be able to spot fake from real. Then he felt a bit embarrassed for giving us a hard time and rolled his eyes at us. The waitress kept saying she was “new” (one week) so to forgive her for messing up EVERYTIME. The bartender was drinking, 3 hours in and she was still drinking.. guess what happened to our tab? two major screwups, over charged by several rounds and the bills were mixed up. By the time we got ready to go, we find ourselves at the bar staring at the bartender and her colleagues scrambling to figure out how to properly charge and get printer paper (4:30am) unfortunately, she couldn’t think straight as she slurred her words. We settled and realized it was a lost battle and looking around just made it a fact that no one would take accountability for making things up, we paid the wrong amounts. (Your welcome)The same security guard ended up fighting with a guest, kicked out the guest then inside started acting like a fool making everyone even his colleagues uncomfortable . (To late for a super hero show, the guest left) from one professional to another, management needs to really re -evaluate who runs their business after hours..Objectively, the lack of integrity towards money handling is disgusting, the lack of professionalism is shocking, staff stop drinking on the job and increase your performance in what you do! And lastly, poor customer service, don’t think the customer owes you something for coming in . If not, forget about an ROI and your staff will continue to make $0 money on tips which will make them resentful and your reputation in the market will go down. Trust me owners, your staff that night did not care.
PS- Thank you Arielle and team for the unwanted...
Read moreI’ve been here numerous times and I am very disappointed with the service I received today from their bartender “John.” John did not greet us when we walked in, nor did he bother to take our order. Luckily, one of the barbacks’ that recognized my boyfriend and I was able to take our drink/food order. After we received our drinks, John appeared only to force my boyfriend and I to leave a card on file, stating that it was POLICY to do so. When I mentioned to him that we‘ve never had to leave a card on file, he again repeated that it was policy & that we had to. This left us feeling a bit uneasy, but we went along with it as we were just trying to watch the game and have a good time. Someone else sat on the bar right next to us, ordered with JOHN, and John never told the client they had to leave a card on file. I brought it up to John’s attention and he said “I haven’t seen you before, and the reason why I ask for a card on file is because I’ve had people walk out without paying their tab before.” Not only did he go against the bars “policy” but he also insinuated that he did not trust we’d pay our bar tab. John never apologized when I brought it up to his attention. Lastly, to add insult to injury, ANOTHER couple sat to the left of my boyfriend and I and you guessed it, John NEVER told them they HAD to leave a card on file. Additionally, he never returned to us to ask us if we wanted additional drinks/food. As mentioned in the beginning, I’ve been here numerous times and I’ve never experienced the discriminatory behavior John demonstrated. Otherwise, the staff here is great, down to the barbacks. But, knowing someone like John works here really makes me question if I’d want to return to The Hangar again. Do...
Read moreOK! This place has been my go to spot every time I have free time and it's a nice day out. This place gets ONE star because the waitress, Julissa, was absolutely horrible. I've never met such a nasty individual. She did not offer us a drink menu (because they're revamping it, which is understandable) BUT when asked "what drinks do you have," she rolled her eyes and expected me to know and didn't make any suggestions. Now, I was aware of the menu because I come here so often, but my friend, who has never been here, had no idea what to get. After the drink issue, she FORGOT what we had ordered so the food took EXTRA long. Then, believe it or not, I had to walk up to her and ask her for another drink...she didn't come to ask how things were at all so I asked the busboy for another appetizer...they had taken the menus away so I asked for chicken empanadas...she again, rolled her eyes and expected me to know that they only had cheese....ok, now after ALL of that it took her 30 mins to come get the bill from the table...I wasn't going to tip her, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a bad day...maybe things were a little busy...nope. Julissa didn't surprise me when I said thank you and she rolled her eyes and walked away. I personally think she needs to find a new job because clearly customer service isn't her thing. Other than this HORRIBLE bartender/ waitress..the place is good. But stay clear of her and her nasty attitude. She is a nightmare and the owner should definitely fire her. I much rather spend my afternoons on austin street now, check out Station House for drinks and 5 Burros for really good...
