I am leaving this review in the hopes that the establishment takes it to heart and does something to address the issues.

Upon walking in there was nobody to greet us. Eventually we were seated but not offered a menu or even asked if we wanted anything to drink while we wait for the server. 5 minutes later finally the waitress arrived and gave us the menu. We ordered the food and it was quite a while until the food was ready.

I ordered a panini and was a little burned but I didn't really mind so much about that since I was really hungry and glad the food was in front of me. My date ordered a bagel with locks with a little but of cream cheese, they gave her almost an entire block of cream cheese which I found to be pretty wasteful. Also they gave her coffee even though only I ordered.

Before leaving I went to use the bathroom and it was a tiny cramped space in which I could barely wash my hands and the soap was mixed with water... greatly disappointed.

The surrounding neighborhood is pretty affluent so I am unsure how such an establishment can exist in it's current state. It is a nice homey environment and I'm sure the regulars don't mind it but I was very disappointed in the experience eating here and wanted to leave my review to let others know and perhaps the owners will one day address these...

So I wasn’t gonna but I have to… Went for brkfst - Food is good (don’t get me wrong, EVERYONE should be able to make simple meals 🤷🏽‍♀️) - I’m bothered that the cream comes in a cup and the unused portion gets retired BACK to the fridge when ur done - a bit unsanitary. The sugar is useless: probably an off-brand to save money. Coffees delicious I must say! Perfect brew every time I’ve been.

Whole place is outdated like MOST diners in attempts to hold onto the nostalgic feel diners are meant to provide the public with, BUT even the bathroom is outdated which it shouldn’t be! More populated times = more demand on the bathroom. Door leading to the bathroom needs a serious bleaching. There are black dirt finger prints everywhere 🤮.

I HAVE to mention that EVERY single time I’ve eaten here, I cough uncontrollably and my sinuses get very irritated. I’m thinking the fans need to be cleaned and everything should be dusted from the top down…

I wasn’t gonna review, BUT today I visited, spent $65 for 2 (which is the average when I visit FOR BREAKFAST - Lunch/Dinner average $85) and was REFUSED a coffee refill in a paper cup instead of the glass one I was using while dining. I was told if I get it in a paper cup and take it out the door, I’d have to pay for a cup of Joe....

The specials are always fresh and yummy and servings are very generous. The sides are not frozen either. And a few choices too (REAL mashed potatoes, not instant!) and we’ve lived here many years but lately they’ve been our “go to take out” These good people have been helping us stay well fed during the #Coronavirus #ShelterInPlace mandate. Their food tastes like home. They have fast, clean delivery service. The only reason I don’t give them five stars is because I never give anyone five stars, there’s always room for improvement, even in my kitchen at home. Stay well #NYC #TRYTHEMTODAY !! UPDATE!! I’m sorry to say my last few deliveries have left me highly disappointed. This happened twice now. What was once a tasty dinner favorite now tasted old, stale and the center was still frozen! Ugh. I won’t order from here again, especially now when everything is so expensive & after paying 44$ for two “diner dinners” #Sad...

We went on a Saturday, around 11am - 12pm and it was pretty packed. We did get seated right away but I think we got the last booth. The food was delicious - I got the chicken cordon Bleu panini and it was delicious! It is a bit on the plain side in terms of flavor bc there's no sauce on it but you can add your own hot sauce or ketchup on the side. Or you can just ask for a sauce on the side later when you try it. I added avocado to mine as well with fries. Fries were hot coming out which I loved. My husband got the lumberjack. He got three plain pancakes, 2 eggs, and bacon. Overall, great meal and service was quick. Also I got the fresh squeezed lemonade but if I'm honest, it didn't taste fresh squeezed but what do I know about that...really...but was on the sweeter side as opposed to sour. And my husband got a coffee which they came by to refill for free which was a bonus. Hope this helps!

I love trying new places to eat so this was no different. Ordered scrambled eggs with three meats and toast. The breakfast was excellent and cooked how I had requested. Also ordered iced coffee which was good, not strong but had a fresh taste. What made me give this place the 4 stars is the cake we ordered, the tiramisu was stale and had an old taste to it, did not enjoy it, my partner’s cheesecake wasn’t terrible but wasn’t the best, at $6.50 a slice this knocked this eatery’s stat one star down. The place was busy being it was Sunday morning and we never got water service until we had to ask for water, not a huge deal. Place is comfortable and love the seating arrangements which are booths which offer privacy. Overall food seems tasty here but stay away from the cakes or have the cake and mention it to the manager if it has a stale taste.

I hate that I'm even writing this, but the place has been mid at best for the years I've been a customer. It's been good in a pinch and convenient to my location. Last year, I ordered the Thanksgiving dinner, which was surprisingly good for the portion and price. Tonight was something completely different. The turkey that came with the meal could only be described as rancid. I have never eaten feces, so I can't describe what it tastes like, but this turkey was long gone by the time it was put in my takeout bag. It stunk up my house, tasted just as bad as it smelled, to the point where not even my dog would eat it. I'm so sorry to leave this review, but it has to be said. Someone in that kitchen and in that restaurant needs to be held accountable. This experience was the nail in the coffin for me.
