I’ve been coming here on and off for probably close to 25 years. It’s definitely one of the best, if not the best breakfast spot in the neighborhood. The prices are high though and still going up. A bacon, egg and cheese bagel is $7. A raisin bagel with cinnamon cream cheese is $3.75; I think it was $2 just a few years ago.The bagels aren’t the big ones you see in some spots so it’s a quick snack. I can’t justify those prices since my favorite bodega is charging $5 for the bacon, egg and cheese.

The sandwiches are a better value cause you’re getting more than double the food for less than twice the price. I like the “Italian Sub” and “The Russian” for $12. I tried the “Tuna Delight” on a hero today for $10 and it’s more justified than the bagel prices. They charged .50 just to add onions which is kinda lame. Sandwich shops don’t do that unless it’s something like roasted red peppers.

Lastly, they surcharge 3.75% to pay by card. I work in credit card processing so I understand more than most how thin the margins are for a small business. I urge most of my clients to do the same to be more profitable (pass the fees to the customer), but when you’re also charging extra just to add onions it gets to a point where you gotta call out being cheap. Sorry.

It’s still a very good local spot to grab a bite. The place is packed even at 6:30 am. The pictures are the Italian Sub, bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, raisin bagel, and the...

Ordered a panini for pick up. I asked the associate on the phone if they had Diet Coke & was told yes. When i went in the associate was extremely rude when i was getting my order. I asked about the drink & she made a face and waved her hand with attitude & said “whatever we have over there”. I think her name was Katie? I’m not sure why i was told they had it when they did not have any Diet Coke cans in stock, & not sure why she had to be rude but it kinda killed my first time experiencing this establishment. The food wasn’t too bad. I got a panini and it was good. The chicken fell out but that’s expected with anyplace you go unless it’s like cold cuts or some kind of spread. The place seems like a mom & pop shop which we love & always try to support but it’s hard when the staff is rude. I was told they also ignore customers as well but i like to experience before I judge. I have to say a bit disappointing. Not sure if i would recommend or order from again with the unfriendly staff but the food was pretty decent & im greatly appreciative to them for...

I’ve been coming to Hot Bagel regularly to get breakfast for my family, and it used to be my go-to spot. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been incredibly disappointing and I can no longer support this business.

On my most recent visit, I placed a very simple order: two bagels — one everything with butter and jelly, and one plain with cream cheese and jelly. Somehow, this straightforward order was mishandled, just like the time before. When I politely asked the staff member if I had done something wrong, because it truly felt like I had offended him, he became loud and defensive instead of resolving the issue. The situation escalated to the point where the owner had to step in and quiet him down.

I work hard, just like they do, and when I come to support a business, I expect to be treated with basic respect. Instead, I felt like I was viewed as a problem rather than a paying customer. It’s disappointing that a place I once enjoyed no longer feels welcoming. Sadly, I won’t...

If I lived closer I would come here every day. I looked for a local place with good reviews. The bagels + service well exceeded my expectations. The line had about 3-4 people ahead of me when I walked in however upon seeing that the owner stopped restocking to help his employees- always a great sign. I was greeted with a smile and was in and out within 5 minutes. He complimented my necklace (which isn't in english but he understood it immediately) and made sincere pleasantries with me. The bagels were even better than the service. I love bagels but the texture of the cream cheese is often overlooked. These were perfect. The bread was airy, the cream cheese thick and plentiful- just check out the photos. I strongly recommend the sun dried tomato cream cheese it was delicious. Next time I'm in Brooklyn I'll go out of my way to make sure I come back here.

I stopped in the other day because I am growing tired of all the local grocery stores/deli's in the area that serve really terrible and undervalued "Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwiches". This place is a really great bagel shop and they give you a real bang for your buck. For such a small place they have a good selection of bagels, cream cheeses and cold cuts. The establishment is very clean and the service is fast. So don't be alarmed if you see long lines in the morning as they take care of customers rather quickly. I definitely recommend and I will most certainly stop in again in the near future.
