We’ve got your Friday night covered ⁉️ In the heart of Staten Island New York, an ode to the flavors of the West Coast awaits‼️ @jsonthebaysiny this bustling eatery, the spirit of San Francisco’s iconic cioppino comes alive in a symphony of East Coast freshness and West Coast tradition. @chef_joesalimeni curates this succulent seafood dish with tangy tomatoes and aromatic herbs, a testament to the culinary bridge between coasts, inviting diners to indulge in a taste of San Francisco amidst the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple 🍎 📍 J’s On The Bay 1189 Bay Street Staten Island NY 10305 #StatenIslandEats #NYSeafood #CioppinoLove #NYCEats #StatenIslandDining #SeafoodSensation #CioppinoCraving #GastronomyNYC #StatenIslandFlavors #CioppinoDelight #NYCSeafood #StatenIslandFoodie #CioppinoClassics #EpicureanStatenIsland #SeafoodTradition #CioppinoCreation #NYCDining #StatenIslandCuisine #CioppinoPerfection #FoodieFindsNYC #StatenIslandSeafood #CioppinoMasters #NYCFoodScene #StatenIslandTastes #CioppinoMingle #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #chefjoesalimeni #eatatjs @chef_joesalimeni @nycwff @thrillist @grubstreet @eater @siadvance @visitstatenisland @wherestatenislandeats @foodnetwork @michelinguide @zagat @zagatnyc @nytcooking

I received a gift card from a friend, I am so glad she shared this place with me. I went for lunch with a friend and have to say, it was so delicious. We both had lunch specials which included soup, salad or fries. I do not remember all the choices of sandwiches there were so many. The next table had the burgers and they all seemed to really enjoy them, they were made from a blend that sounded delicious. My friend and I chose the Truffle chicken sandwich on focaccia with a side salad and the Asian beef sandwich which came on Italian bread. All I can say is the food was more delicious than the descriptions. The salad was perfect, and as you can see the chicken sandwich had so many flavors which all worked really well. My friend ate every bite of his sandwich he said it was amazing! I will definitely come back for dinner, and lunch again. What a fantastic place! The waiter was great and he really helped us make a decision, he knew the menu well and wasn’t rushing us. I forgot to mention when we were initially seated we were presented with mini croissants that were warm with a chocolate butter. So freakin good! We will be back for sure, there were so many things I need to try.

I gave these clowns TWO chances and they failed both times! The first time I ordered, my turkey bacon was UNDONE and luke warm. It tasted like it was microwaved vs grilled. That particular time they charged me $22 for 2 sandwiches, one bagel, and 2 can sodas. I called and they offered me a restaurant credit of $14.50 for the sandwiches that were disgusting; however, the rest was unaccounted for (still don't understand why it cost $22 for a $14 order). Then the driver arrived begging for a tip, and his car reeking of pure cigarette smoke!! The smell was so potent.(I think he was smoking while delivering the food with the windows completely closed.) Extremely unprofessional. Anyway, I decided to order from them again, and I received, as you can clearly see, BURNT turkey bacon. I told them "well done" not burnt. And to put the icing on the cake, it took them over an hour to deliver BOTH times, and I'm only 15min away in the car.... Please do not order from these careless, disgusting people. SN: I have a feeling the grill man intently burnt my bacon this time, because last time I complained about how undone it was. I am literally appalled by their behavior.

I tried really hard to try and like this place. Considering it probably has been on the island for a while and I know business is hard here. That's why I give it a one pity star and it's not just a one star. The food is overpriced and service is extremely slow. 3 out of 4 people got our meals and we were waiting for my last friend to receive his food. We saw it come out from the kitchen, but then it turns out that the waitress didn't give it to us but give it to another person who was just a party of one so all of us have to wait for that one dish to come. Did they forget or was the order messed up? We will never know because the waitress didn't tell us anything or even start to apologize for the long wait. I ordered the chicken truffle salad sandwich and there was more cranberry and avocado than any chicken and there was definitely no flavor of Truffle in it. It arrived on my plate stacked vertically on a super wide plate. Why do you need to vertically stack my gigantic sandwich up when the plate has so much leftover space. Why are you making it harder for yourself? Furthermore, it's so ridiculous that you would order a sandwich with cold bread that probably just came out of the refrigerator. It was so hard to eat that I gave up after just two bites of the bread, then threw those pieces of rocks aside and just ate my wilted salad. I also didn't appreciate that waitresses attitude when we were asking about the mushroom burger. When she asked us if we wanted it medium, well done, rare, am I supposed to know what she's referring to? Is it the beef? Is it the mushroom? How can we eat the mushroom rare, well done or whatever? We asked nicely - she can answer us nicely. How are we supposed to know if it's an actual beef burger or a vegetarian alternative? Am I to assume that all Staten Island restaurants don't really serve vegetarian alternatives? Make your menus more clear...ridiculous. The fries also shouldn't be hyped up, they were somewhat undercooked and all they did to make presentation better was to put it in one of those cute mini frying baskets. And fix the dang dining table - all our drinks kept splish sploshing all over the place. Not coming back here again. There are so many better choices...at least their coffee was pretty ok. But it's ok, there are even better coffee places elsewhere on the island. Thanks for an unsatisfying...

We had a group of 7 people looking for a quick bite to eat at 8 pm on a Friday night. We decided to try J's. One in our party recommended to call ahead to let them know a group was coming. The person who answered the call seemed annoyed by the call and responded, but we close at 10pm. Drink orders placed were two cokes and a pitcher of white sangria. The waiter, an elderly white-haired man, came back to the table twice to confirm the drink order. He brought three wine glasses filled to the very top with ICE. Then came the pitcher of white sangria, a completely filled pitcher of ice with some fruit in the bottom and a splash of wine. $42 for the pitcher. I poured some wine into the 3 glasses. There was not even enough wine to complete the third glass. There was so much ice in the glasses that I asked my husband to go to the bar to retrieve some straws because we were unable to drink the wine without getting ice spilling out of the glass. It was shocking how disappointing the "pitcher" of sangria was. I had to fish out the fruit on the bottom of the pitcher by pouring half the container's ice into empty water glasses on the table. I was still reeling because I couldn't fill the third glass. Please be warned DO NOT order a pitcher because you will pay more for less wine and more ICE. The waiter asked how we liked the sangria, and I was reluctant to answer because I didn't want to be a complainer. He pressed the question again how as the sangria and I said how difficult it was to get the fruit from the bottom of the ice. He snorted back at me well that's just how we do it. He was uninterested and I was surprised by the ungracious attitude. But what irks me more was the blatant use of completely filled ICE in both glasses and pitcher and not enough wine to put in those 3 glasses. No one likes being taken advantage of. The food was mostly passable. My grilled octopus was very tender, and the accompanying salad was nice. I'm completely turned off to this place because the server was gruff, the pitcher cost $42 and you get maybe two glasses of wine, and there were large shards of broken glass on the floor at my feet that I had to be careful of. I told the bartender about the large pieces of glass on the floor, and he knew about it, stating oh that was the people before you. I won't be...

If I could give 0 stars I would. Very disappointed today. Came with my boyfriend to have brunch. I ordered an omelet with a side of salad and fries he ordered a lobster roll. We both ordered milkshakes. We were seated in the back outside which had multiple tables with umbrellas except our table and one next to ours didn't why I don't know. So we waited for our waitress to come but she never did until 20 minutes later we asked to sit under a table that had an umbrella so we moved our seat. Once we placed our order she brought me my milkshake which was melting all over the place instead of offering me napkins to clean it I had to used the 2 napkins in the table. I received my omelet which was ok. I never got my salad. My boyfriend's lobster roll which is served fresh and warm any other place was cold. The waitress never asked how is everything. I had to ask another waiter to find her. Also I had to ask another waiter for water for the both us he brings me one water. Once she came over I told her the lobster roll was cold and she replied well that's how it's served. So we asked her to warm it up and with a nasty remark she turns and says how would you like me to warm it up? So my bf says I would like to order something else and she said what do you want in a nasty tone without even giving him a menu. So she calls over J the owner he says well it's a lobster salad so its served cold and my bf asks if he can switch it something else and he says well what do you want we said we need a menu. We were so turned off by the nasty attitudes that we decided not to order anything and just asked for the check. I came to this place a few times before and never had issues. The service was great the food was amazing. I'm very surprised and disappointed. I will never come here again. They don't know good customer service. They were extremely impolite and unprofessional. I don't know the name of the waitress but she was blonde with long hair. Avoid her if possible. She's got no customer service...
