I moved from NY. I think about this pizza all the time... I have been back and fourth but this time you can't blame COVID. I ordered a pie on the phone they said ten minutes I get there exactly 10 minutes later so I can pay and hopefully get a fresh hot pie out of the oven not something that is sitting for a few minutes waiting for me. I go I pay they immediately hand me a pie I was so excited. I'm walking to the car and the box didn't feel even warm the pies are thin so that's not entirely a red flag I put it in the car I drive two blocks and I pull over because it's bothering me I open the box it's literally ice cold and looks like it's been sitting there for hours. How is that even possible? The place is super busy. I'm not a cry baby so I go home heat the entire pie in the oven. Put it back in the box and this is what it looks like. Still looks cold and old I am so disappointed. I waited months to come back here and it's actually worse than if I ordered from gold belly. That's another thing they got me once the pizza they sell on gold belly is gross. It tastes like chemicals and that's exactly what this pie tasted like. I'm so disappointed what happened to this place? I used to love this pizza 🤦‍♂️

Underwhelming and Overpriced I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The tortellini brodo was the biggest offender—the smell alone was enough to put me off. It had an unsettling, almost bathwater-like odor, and the stock was clear with little to no fat, making it taste as bland as it looked. The cheese pie had potential, but it arrived cold. Judging by its limp, floppy texture, it was probably left sitting out too long before being delivered. The only thing with any crunch was the crust, which was decent, but that’s not enough to carry an entire pizza. The chicken francese was just... there. Edible, sure, but far from impressive. The sauce was too watery, and the chicken itself had no real flavor. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t good either. To top it all off, the zeppolis were a complete disaster—no crisp, just dense, chewy, and hard to eat. Biting into one felt like chewing on a tire. They were neither fresh nor enjoyable. For the price, I expected way better. Two stars—one for the price point and one for the fact that the soup didn’t actually contain a dead body, even though it smelled like it might. Wouldn’t order again.

As per of my ongoing exploration of old school pizza in NYC, we stopped at Joe & Pat’s on Saturday afternoon at 2:00p for late lunch. This place gets lots of “best in NYC” reviews so it has been on my list for some time. Is it old-school, for sure. So much so, one might even say the place is not modern looking inside or outside. But don’t let appearances fool you. The pizza is great, a super thin crust Grandma style pie. This is practically a cracker crust, not the fold over greasy typical NYC pizza. The sauce on the pizza had a savory sweetness to it, that was unique in its flavor profile. Cheese is slab style, randomly placed throughout the pie, not the usual shredded mozzarella. The other thing to mention is the great friendly service. Only 2 downsides, the first was that the pizza being so thin, a party of 3 needed 2 large pies, but we only had time for 1. If we had known, we would have ordered 2 pies at the same time. The other negative is no parking lot, just street parking, which was slightly challenging. Despite those 2 minor disappointments, overall this place definitely deserves all the kudos. Must try it.

Came here the other day ,and, first things first, the back dining room is beautifully painted with columns, flowers, clouds, etc. all over the walls. Very striking when you come in from the bland front room with the pizza oven. Speaking of which, the oven is a gas oven, but has rotating decks. I'm not quite sure what this is for, but my only guesses are that it makes it easier for to know when a pizza is done (if they time the rotation), they do a huge volume of business sometimes and need the extra space, or it just looks badass (which it does). Service was pretty good seeing as we were only there for pizza. The pizza itself is great; it has a super thin, cracker-like crust, which I'm personally not a fan of, but Joe & Pat's was lightly charred and had a nice, but not overwhelming crunch to it. This kind of crust does make folding difficult however, so its better just to hold it up with 3 fingers instead of forcing a fold. Also the outer crust is pretty nonexistent, which means the sauce can creep to the edge of the pie. Some people might not like the lack of crust, but I thought it was unique in this case. The sauce on the pizza was also great; it was light and very flavorful, and it matched the crust beautifully. The only real bad part is that the cheese could've been better, but it did work well with the rest of the pie. Also the thinness of the pie makes it not filling at all, which would also be an issue for me normally. Joe & Pat's definitely exceeded my expectations. Its a definite must for cracker-crust aficionados, worth a detour if your nearby, and one of the best pizzerias in...

It's been roughly 25 years moving away from New York since I been to Joe and Pat's.

I was in the area and you know how everyone loves New York Pizza and the New York Bagels so I decided to take my family to this place that I grew up with when I was a kid and had great memories with.

They have two sections one is you can sit down in the front where they make the pizzas and have your food there or you can go to the more fancier dining room that is right in the Next Room.

We decided to go in the fancier dining room. It was nicely decorated with pictures from the two brothers that formed the business. We decided to order two large cheese pizzas which are my favorite. When we got our meal I was very disappointed since it was not the type of pizza that I grew up with at this place. The pizza was as thin as wallpaper and for a price of $18 a pie it definitely was not worth it. There was a few pieces of cheese on it but mainly sauce the sauce was good but I would not recommend it my personal opinion for the pizza unless you are really into the thin pies and willing to spend that much. The service was not very good even though we ordered two pizzas basically our waitress drop off the pizzas and we did not see her the rest of the time except...
