Kathy's Dumplings NY — Restaurant in New York

I’ve had their food over the last two years and thought it was great, however, recently that started to change. I went to pick up take away today and ordered ‘Indian pancake’ and hot-spicy soup. The pancake was DRIPPING IN OIL. By dripping I mean, literally. It was sitting in a pool of oil. I thought maybe it was the seasoning of the filling, but nope, the pancake was drenched it oil even and clearly non seasoned. I tried to use tissues to absorb the oil so I can eat, but gave up after 12tissues as it was still oozing oil. It went into the garbage. Next the soup, it was a completely different soup. A pork dumpling soup! Wow!!! How can they get it so wrong!?!! Never...

I ordered the scallion pancake. It was thin and had little taste. The shrimp dumplings were steamed and were 5 in an order. Small and O.K. The wonton noodle soup was disappointing. Most places will provide a separate or additional container of soup broth. The restaurant did not provide any additional soup. The "soup" came in a half filled bowl with little soup, several small wontons and a few strips of bok choy. The food overall is average. The woman taking the order at the restaurant is friendly. Several tables for dining in. No air conditioning...

Food came out fast and piping hot. Ordered the braised beef noodles but there was more watery soup than noodles. There were only 3 piece of small cubed beef as well which was disappointing. The flavor was good but there were so many winged ants and termites flying around. One was also in my soup. Left hungry.

The decor is bare minimum, it's hard to tell if this place is open since it's pretty dark and all of the seating plus decor is at a bare minimum. It was an okay experience but I don't think I...
