I had the worst discriminatory experience at your establishment today located at 210 East 14th St, New York, NY 10003. I was very excited to try the food at this establishment so I went to visit the nearest location with my son. Upon arrival we were seated at the very first seat at the entrance, by the door. It was really cold today so I asked if I could be seated somewhere a little more inside the restaurant as I am anemic and it is really cold. My server told me no and walked away. After this I was going to leave however my son really wanted to eat here, so I said fine I will just order food for him and then go. While waiting for our food, I seen several guests pass me (of a different race than me) and get seated in warmer seats inside of the restaurant. I left it alone and let my son finish eating so we can go.

After the meal, another server who was not my initial server, an older woman, arrived to our table and provided me with the check. While reviewing the check I seen that there was gratuity added to my bill. I asked her to please remove the tip. She asked me how much did I want to tip. I told her absolutely nothing this is the worst experience ever, I couldn’t even order anything for myself to eat because it is too cold, please remove the tip. Her response was there is no problem here, we couldn’t sit you in the back because that’s for reservations only. I said was the entire restaurant for reservations only? She said No. I told her I simply wanted to sit somewhere further away from the door but I wasn’t allowed too however all of the white customers that walked in was. Please remove this tip from the receipt. She then went back and forth with me stating that there was no problem that occurred. After a while I got tired of going back and forth with her and just paid the entire bill with tip included and asked her name. She stated that her name was Yan however I’m not sure how truthful this is.

After me and my son left our table she was standing by the front booth, I asked her if she was the supervisor, she stated no, he is not here right now. I asked her what is his name, and then she redirected me to a business card with the stores number on it. I asked her again what is his name and she stated that I can just call that number and ask. I asked her are you unable to give me his name? She smiled, shooked her head and said no. I repeatedly asked her if she could give me the supervisors name and then she finally said that she is the manager and whatever I have to say I can say to her. While trying my best to maintain my composure I asked her to give me my tip Now, do you know how rude you are being. She said yes and took the receipt to open the register and give me back my tip. After this while me and my son is walking out she yells ā€œ Next time you people can just order take outā€.

I have never received such disgusting service in my life, and just want to say thanks for showing me why I should never walk into your establishment again.

The servers name on the receipt was Zhong J and my receipt was reprinted at 6:21 PM, Jan 5th, receipt #87. People like this should not be allowed to work in a customer service...

My across the pond NYC adventures. My focus was to try delicious food. My first stop was Kyuramen in Union Square. I have seen this place all over my algorithm on all social media platforms. Just from the videos and photos I have seen all over social media made it look delectable.

Let’s start with the scenery, besides going on a day it was hot and humid outside, knowing that the location had air condition. I was eternally grateful. When I went inside it felt like I was in Japan. I made have not been to Japan, but I felt that I was there. The location’s level of sanitization and cleanliness was also on point.

The staff was friendly and efficient; the young lady took my best friend, FiancƩ and I to our table to the back. I love our table and felt we had some type of privacy. Now, it is down to the food. In recent videos on platforms in social media they were known for their Ramen and the Omurice.

Although the ramen was tempting to have, I had to pass it up because I was very hot from the summery day we were having. It was the three of us. So, it wouldn’t make sense for all of us to order the same thing. So, we decided to all of us to order something different for each of us to try different dishes.

First, the Appetizers. Only myself and my best friend order something from the appetizers.

I ordered the Steam Pork Bao Buns. I order the 2pcs should have order 1pc instead of 2pc. It was larger size bao bun to me, comparing to others that I had in the past from other Japanese restaurants there were small. The pork in the bao bun fell apart in my mouth. The sauce had a little of a kick that took me by surprise that made me want to eat more.

The second appetizer was the Okonomiyaki. My first reaction was the smell was delightful. When I took my bite, it was hot in the inside. I did burn my tongue, but I did not want to stop chewing because it tasted so good.

Next, was the Omurice, the portion size was large for my fiancƩ. The dish can be made for two people if you are the type of person that does not eat a lot. Just the presentation and the small performance from cutting the egg open and pouring the Demi-Glace sauce made my mouth water.

Of course, I had to try it. Honestly, it was worth the hype. It was flavorful and adding on the demi-glace, just wow!

My dish that I have chosen to try was the Soft-Shell Crab Rice Burger. It was a lot to take in. It was pretty good for a rice burger. This was my first time trying out a rice burger. You are warned, you will get a bit messy. It was a lot of sauce on it, it was bit too much for me because the soft-shell started to get soggy while I continue eating it. Again, this is my opinion. Every person has their preferences.

Overall, the experience of it all have lives up to its reputation. Don’t worry one of these days I will be back and will try their ramen dishes.

Also, i have started a food blog page on Instagram...

I’m going to get into full detail of the food, service, and atmosphere as why this is the BEST ramen shop for travelers to visit.

I came here quite some time ago with my boyfriend and I have to admit - best ramen ever!

FOOD: Have you ever had ramen and you feel so full so bloated and uncomfortable after eating? I promise you that comfort and casual eating is priority at KYURAMEN. The ramen that I ordered was the tonkatsu ramen. The tonkatsu ramen was flavorful and easy on the stomach. It is a good choice if you are just trying out ramen for the first time. Another thing to note is that the dinner options are extensive and you can substitute quite a bunch of foods and meal options - which is A+. The pork bao is so so delicious! It was my first time trying bao and I have to tell you - don’t pass on it. It’s so tender yet flavorful and the textures of the meat and bread compliments each other so nicely. Lastly, the Thai tea was top notch! It was also another thing I never tried before and I don’t think I’ve ever had a Thai tea from a shop that tastes so good and so smooth! Definitely give that a try as well!

SERVICE: Are you arriving with more than a party of 2 or more? Worried about ā€œthe bigger the party the louder the crowdā€ issues? Do not worry. On the day of my visit, there was a party of 7-9 people. Although the shop is quite small, there was definitely a fair amount of space and distance between large groups and other guests. No crazy wait times. The servers were patient with us as we were looking over the menu, they even checked on us to see how we are doing and our thoughts about how the food was served. Second, this is the only ramen shop that I’ve been to that makes sure your table is clear of any other items. You literally sit and eat comfortably without the worry of having to shove away food and plates yourself. Lastly, the prices of the foods on the menu were a very fair price for customers. I’d say nothing really over $50 dollars for two people.

Atmosphere: It was definitely lively, heartfelt, and modernistic which is what I’m not used to in other ramen restaurants in my hometown. Everyone from the locals to the workers and other tourists like myself were in high spirits.

TLDR; I would love to come and visit again. Thank you KYURAMEN for the exemplary...
