Edit to respond to owner: Thank you for addressing my 3 points, appreciate it. The 2nd time I went to order in person, I asked the girl at the register taking my order, if I could do the vegan veggie pie without olives or mushrooms and was told no because the veggie mix comes premade from a bag, so I would have to pick off the vegetables I didnt want. But now, knowing that is not the case, I will definitely be ordering broccoli Rabe pie with vegan cheese. Hopefully there is more demand for vegan slices and garlic knots in the future. I have spread the word about your vegan options in the local vegan groups.

The vegan cheese pizza was delicious and if this review was based solely on the vegan cheese pie, it would be 5 stars. They have the best plain vegan cheese pizza I have ever had and I've been vegan over 10 years. The vegan violofe cheese they use melts so beautifully, the crust is perfectly crunchy and the sauce is amazing. But I have to deduct two stars for the following reasons: 1. They do not sell vegan pizza by the slice. The 2 times i went they had no vegan slices, I asked and was told they don't sell it by the slice, only by the pie. 2. There are no other vegan options. They can't make vegan garlic knots or calzones which is super disappointing as they are easily made vegan. They could simply use a garlic and olive oil wash to make vegan garlic knots. 3. The veggie mix for the vegan veggie pizza comes premade in a bag so you can't pick what vegetables you get on the pizza. I hope they add more vegan options as I think they would do really well, vegan garlic knots are hard to come by and I think would set them apart. Nevertheless, that vegan cheese pie...

I recently had the pleasure of trying Austin Street Pizza in Forest Hill, NY, and it was an incredible experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual night out with friends.

As for the pizza itself, it was some of the best I've ever had. The crust was crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside, and the sauce had just the right amount of tangy sweetness to balance out the savory toppings. I particularly enjoyed the margherita pizza, which was topped with fresh, tangy tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil leaves.

One thing that really impressed me about Austin Street Pizza was their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients in their pizzas. You could really taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients, from the fresh mozzarella to the perfectly ripe tomatoes.

Overall, I would highly recommend Austin Street Pizza to anyone looking for a delicious, authentic New York-style pizza. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and incredible pizza make it a must-visit spot in Forest Hill. I can't wait to go back and try more of their...

Update: Over one year later I decided to retry this place. This time I got one pepperoni slice ($4.90). Major rip off. The slice was reheated and burnt during the reheat. I was starving so I ate it anyway. My jaw hurt afterwards from chewing on the cardboard. Please avoid this place at all cost.

I was extremely excited to see that a new pizza place was opening in Forest Hills as the neighborhood really is lacking a great pizzeria. I admit my order only consisted of a plain slice of pizza, but I was underwhelmed by the slice. It was tasty but it was extremely thin and the slices are cut small. The sauce is good. I do give them that. But there is virtually no cheese. Combined with the paper thin crust I was left hungry. I will have to give the specialty slices a try, but was steered away by burnt crust that appeared on all the pies in the display (although only half of the pie was burnt, I feared that I would be served the burnt side). Perhaps this will be a simple fix as it seems like the back of the oven may be hotter than the front and that they just need to make sure they rotate when they cook. As the place is new, I will certainly give them...

Worst Pizza in New York ive ever had! Super dry, and overcooked pizza that had so much flour on it i almost chocked. If i didnt have a bottle of water with me I would have probably chocked and died. So be warned, if you do decide to eat it though, make sure you have a beverage with you, or else you may choke from the dryness. Literally like swallowing sandpaper or cinnamon eating this, not even joking. thought my throat was going to close up or I was having an allergic reaction or soemthing from the dryness. If you dont believe me let the pictures speak for themself. Not only is it dry and possibly deadly , but its over 4$ a slice. On top of that the people working there are as rude and sassy as can be. No matter how hungry you are its not worth buying this. Even if it was free I wouldnt eat it. This pizza is what you give to someone you dont like, and you want them to choke and die. If you have a coworker or family member you hate, then give them this pizza if you want them to have an early death.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza here. At first glaze it seems like a over priced trendy place but I love trying different pizza places so I bought an upside down pie to compare to my favorite place (spumonis) and the truffle personal pie. Now the crust is really good here, I thought it was better with the traditional slice vs the square though. My biggest complaint is the lack of flavor in the red sauce and just not enough of it on the upside down one. The truffle pie was delicious and reminded me of the one they sale at Trader Joe’s. Love that the ingredients are all organic and clean here too. Will be back to try the pesto slice as when I was walking in some lady was literally in pure bliss, eyes closed and everything while eating this. The owner should advertise that! Pesto so good brings you to heaven and back. (Disclaimer: can’t confirm until I have the time to try it myself)
