I know this place for many years, at least 7 or more. They bake stuff on premises and sell cakes from other places. You can grab a coffee there too. Everything is great, the place is saturated with diabetes inducing items like no other, rate of cookies/sft is high two-digits. The only drawback is babushkas that go there and grab cookies with their bare hands, who tend to taste them and put back what's left. Those creatures operate at hypersonic speeds, but usually attack the front part of the shelves, so better pick your items from the back. I took pictures of the usual items the store sells to make your life easier

What a gem of a find in Brighton Beach- An amazing selection of home baked cakes pastries and cookies… Somewhat difficult to identify as they were labeled in Cyrillic, some seemed to also have Polish which I could read… Many were easy to identify on their own. Some are priced individually some are priced by the pound - Out of this world quality in flavor

Nice place with good variety of desserts and coffee with absolutely fair prices. I got humongous poppy seed bun for $1.50, I couldn’t even finish it in one sitting. I wish they were a little bit more organized...Speed racks with trays just right next to the actual shelfs, so people take pastries from here and there so the shop/cafe doesn’t look neat.

The entrance area was a bit narrow, with register to the right and shelves with lots of yummy looking items. I appreciate they put the labels in English, even though I still didn't understand what everything was, since not all of them had labels. There were lots of "locals" (mostly Russians) shopping baked goods and sweets. After you passed the register counter, the store becomes much larger, with refrigerated items (mainly cakes) on the left, and all sorts of baked goods on the right, back, and in the middle. The selection was endless, I saw some bread, cookies, rainbow cake (?) and so much more.

They had huge plastic bags and containers, and you can fill them with the items of choice, as they are sold by pounds. Most of them were &6.99 per pound, and you get pretty good amount, since they are not heavy.

We bought some sweets and their famous sour cream cake, which was incredible! I really enjoyed the entire experience here at this bakery. Everyone was sweet, including local customers. Read my full review of this cafe and food on my food blog,...

This place has gotten worse through the years, 100%. My mom used to come here to get food from the salad bar. These days, they have trays with expired food and sell it full price. It’s literally stealing. I brought home food on two occasions within this last month and both times there was one food out of the several I bought that were spoiled tasting and not fresh looking. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, not even the locals. It used to be a neat place to get authentic Soviet cuisine, nowadays you’re lucky if you can find something...
