Jalapeño Shack — Restaurant in New York

Came here after day at the beach. I got the shack fries and what I ordered was hefty but very pricey.

On the menu the shack fries are listed as $8-10 but when I finished ordering and added a drink it came out close to $23.

I’m a bit frustrated because the shack fries are really just a bowl with fries as the base instead of rice. So it’s up to me to completely customize the bowl with the ingredients available (which is essentially what the servers told me). Unfortunately they failed to explain when they were going to charge me extra for ingredients so essentially I ended up overpaying when I would’ve ordered less to save more.

Between the lack of transparency in price and the fact that I paid $20+ to sit in a not great environment I was not really happy with my experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jalapeño Shack, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This Mexican grill truly delivers on flavor, freshness, and quality service.

The menu offers a fantastic variety of authentic Mexican dishes, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.
