LA FONDA DE OFE — Restaurant in New York

I’ve gone both in-person and ordered delivery. This is hands down top 3 taco spots in the Bronx. I’ve gone to many in this city but here they just have the best flavor.

Their carnitas meat!! 100/10!! Whoever choose the cuts of the meat and its trim needs an award and I pray God (continues to) give them strength for each day and perfect health because it’s the perfect balance of meat and fat. It’s juicy, not too salty, and with the salsa tying it all together, my stomach sings. I literally tried another taco spots carnitas and it didn’t hit like there’s. So I certainly missed their taste.

I happened to first try them on a Taco Tuesday, where they offer $2 taco (any taco meat except shrimp) on Tuesdays (hehe taco tuesday), but I will gladly visit (and have visited) them on a regular day. I just have to refrain from eating there so often because I need to curb my big back tendencies. Their adobo chicken plate is good as well. Other dishes that I’ve tried were their nachos and burritos, solid 7.8/10 for both. The nacho chips are fresh, the toppings, fresh, but idk it’s a nacho nothing more or less. The burrito is solid, too. It’s very filling, their rice and beans are tasty, the meat portions inside need better distribution throughout, maybe a .05 ounce more of meat may help this or perhaps just how it’s mixed in the burrito to give presence of enough meat in it instead of it being gathered in the middle, or either ends of the wrap, ykwim?

My suggestions for their tacos: Carnitas, birria, and steak

I’ve tried their carne asada and chicken but like many other places, it’s okay. I prefer Tinga Chicken (chicken tinga) over grilled chicken.

Their agua Frescas are okay. I’ve tried a couple so far and while different flavors than what I’ve had, it’s a bit too sweet for me personally!

Also the workers of the establishment are so hardworking and they are kind to me every-time they see me. Good hospitality! Good food! Please visit them and support! Leave a comment and photos!
