Title: A Snack Stop at Le Pain Quotidien: My Mixed Experience, Yet Worthy of Five Stars
Review:
In my recent visit to Le Pain Quotidien, the overall experience, despite a few initial hiccups, definitely merited a five-star rating. The wait of over ten minutes for seating, while initially frustrating given the visible availability of tables, was quickly overshadowed by the subsequent quality of service and the place's ambiance.
The casual yet rustic decor blend created an inviting atmosphere that made the wait less bothersome once I settled in. Even with a considerable crowd, the low noise level added to the relaxed and enjoyable environment.
A significant highlight was the food. The aromatic espresso and the delicious, health-conscious croissant were in line with Le Pain Quotidien's commitment to fresh, organic ingredients. The excellence in taste and quality of these simple offerings was a testament to their culinary standards.
Following the initial wait, the service improved markedly, becoming efficient and friendly. This positive change in service contributed significantly to the overall dining experience.
Another pleasant surprise was the pricing. Contrary to my expectations, the cost for the espresso and croissant was very reasonable, under ten dollars, which added to the value of the experience. This aspect, in particular, made the restaurant stand out, as it offered high-quality food at an affordable price, which is not always easy to find.
The convenient location of Le Pain Quotidien further enhances its appeal, making it an attractive option for both locals and tourists alike.
In summary, while the visit began with a minor service setback, the food's outstanding quality and value, the charming ambiance, and the turnaround in service quality all contributed to a five-star experience. These factors make Le Pain Quotidien a place I would gladly recommend and revisit, with reasonable pricing being a...
Read moreThe owner of this LPQ should see how horrible the attitude of their supervisor/manager and staff on the counter, Lassane B is. I was excited to see that there is one by my hotel and went there yesterday, Sat, 10/12 for a very late lunch. My server has dry personality but engaged him politely and he engaged, a little, back. Today, Sun, at 4pm, I decided to go back but take the food to go. Got in line, asked a lady behind the counter for a menu and she loudly said “menus are there” and pointed to the host stand without a host. She saw that I was trying to figure out where the menus are, she handed me one anyway. Then I placed an order for the Quinoa salad and Lassane B looked annoyed and pointed to where the premade salad is located. I understood and went and took one. I asked for sliced bread and he acted like it was a huge request. I even said I’ll pay for it. Yesterday, as dine in, I was served with bread and butter - it is how they are served in any city I have been in with LPQ. Then the whole thing was just uncomfortable, bad attitude altogether. He left - I did not know where he was going. The tap pay register had my order. I asked the sup/manager because I see that he charged me double the amount of an item. She corrected it then I asked for the sliced bread and she said Lassane B went to get it. He comes back with this paper with a sliced bread - to be honest, I went to get a baguette from nearby wholefoods as I was afraid to eat the bread he got from the back. I paid and did not tip, probably for the first time, I was just in disbelief. It’s hard to get good staff, I get it. And maybe because it is in a busy location and still making money that this feedback will go nowhere but it’s okay. Reviews are powerful and I’ll leave it at that. People have a choice where they can spend their money at. Disappointing as I’ve always...
Read moreAs usual food was good but service unfortunately is extremely bad I went there on Thursday 28th and friday 29th March. The female manager has such a negative attitude and bad manners … why is she a manager ?? The waiter on Friday was probably in training so the long wait and the absolute no looking at customers….. I went back on Sunday ( yes I know I shouldn’t have but I like their food and the location is convenient) The waiter was so rude . We arrived at 8:25 / order taken at 8:30 and food served less than 8 minutes later so pretty good!Things got complicated when that male waiter started to be overwhelmed because his trainee was just very slow and people were arriving around 9/9:30. When asked for the check it took 2 attempts between the trainee and him to finally get it . I was asked to pay by card but unfortunately I only had cash . He took him 20 minutes to get my money back. I’m normally a good tipper as I know how hard this job can be . But the way he literally throw the money at me was inexcusable . My bill was 50$ and I gave him 100$ instead of giving 5 /1 and 20 so I can leave a tip he gave me 20 and 10 Normally I would have been happy to leave 10$ but his attitude was just bad . I tried to ask him for at least 5$ but he just left quickly I couldn’t ! So No tips for him and his trainee … the worst part is I’m the one feeling bad for not...
