One of the interesting monuments to see at Bryant Park is the Josephine Shaw Lowell Fountain facing Sixth Avenue. The fountain designed by American artist and architect Charles A. Platt and installed here in 1913. It commemorates progressive reformer Josephine Shaw Lowell and is believed to be the fist monument in NYC to honour a woman.
