We enjoyed hot drinks & pastries at the Le Pain Quotidien kiosk near the boating lake in Central Park today at one of their tables in the late evening sunshine, watching people going by and children sailing their rented remote controlled model boats in the lake. My wife enjoyed her weak one shot, milky latte and small moist mini carrot cake and I enjoyed my English breakfast tea but there wasn't much apple in my apple turnovers, which was mainly dry flakey pastry. The bill came to $21. There were public male & female toilets either side of the kiosk and a table service section offering waiter service for a selection of food & drinks. It wasn't too busy when we were there around 6pm on a Saturday evening and it was the perfect place to sit down, take a break, relax and watch the world go by in Central Park whilst enjoying a drink. We were fortunate to be there to listen to the famous Central Park guitar man playing some beautiful guitar music from across the boating lake during one of his regular Saturday slots.

This is the first restaurant where I ever walked out after waiting 15 minutes to order and 45 minutes for food that never came out. Except one server who is actively trying to help and make the place run a bit, too many were just hanging out without being aware of the surrounding considering busy hour. To make it better, one employee who literally stood outside, hung out, talking, petting nearby dogs and didn't help out at all during the entire hour that I was at the restaurant for. Absolute zero consideration for the customers and frankly the restaurant. Great location and atmosphere with the pond, yet would avoid ordering food here unless you want to wait an hour or longer to eat anything.

Currently sitting at 58 minutes and counting, waiting for a Salmon Tartine. As far as I know that is a slice of bread with some salmon on it. Waiter announces to new guests that they’re likely having to wait over an hour for their food as it’s busy. Attached a photo of how busy it is (terrace is at max 1/3rd capacity). Other guests orders are being subbed out with other ingredients as they’re out of some, but don’t inform guests and just serve it as is. Out of the 25+ Le Pains I’ve visited, this was the worst. Edit: if you want to bypass the sitting guests, my protip is to go for the takeout. They’ve been getting preference over dine-ins.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this place, and I must say that the exceptional service provided by Tom truly made our experience unforgettable! From the moment we walked in, Tom greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, making us feel right at home. Throughout our meal, Tom was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that our every need was met. His passion for providing outstanding customer service was evident in everything he did, from expertly answering our questions about the menu to making thoughtful recommendations. The food was delicious, but it was Tom’s outstanding service that truly made our dining experience stand out. He was courteous, efficient, and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a exceptional dining experience. Tom’s outstanding service and the delicious food make it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates great food and exceptional customer service. Five stars isn’t enough - Tom deserves ten stars for his outstanding...

Looks like american coffee is brewed here at least ten times from the same load. Tastless and without any traces of coffee"s aroma liquid with disgusting smell of overextracted ciffee. Rude and ignorant personnel refusing to refill a brewing machine with fresh load if coffee. Avoid this place if you are looking for a decent american coffee. Note to a manager of this place -. Le Pain Quotidien has very strict uniform rules and a woman in khaki military jacket pouring "coffee" to a former customer (me) is definitely not in line with these rules.

02/16/23 Update. The worst customer service in NYC I ever had. Waited 5 minutes at the cash register while two employees enjoyed watching a fun movie. After the prolonged wait I was served with the wrong drink three times in a row. Eventually I returned my coffee as it tasted like not coffee but as an attempt to brew as much as possible brown colored water from yesterday's leftovers in a coffee machine. Leave this place for the tourists....
