I am a 74 year old ,life long NewYorker who travels once a month to Newkirk plaza . There , i slowly climb Subway stairs until once again , I am face to face with Good food !! I save and portion , my doctor squeals in dismay , but life is too short to miss these thrills. Two full sized heros to bring back home to savor, sliver by slice everyday for the next week !!!. Latest visit was Philly cheese steak w/everything and the Shrimp Parm hero . Back home i slice a thumb size width of each sub . The cheese in this sub is Provolone, not that awful Velveeta they use in Philly. It is top quality as is the tender, juicy steak piled three inches deep across the perfect roll. The Shrimp parm sub is equally thrilling as EVERY BITE yields juicey plump shrimp ladened with THE BEST " gravy" and cheese !!! No direspect , but many patrons boast hefty frames which i presume is a direct result of living so very vlose to thus...

Lo Duca is a family business with deep roots in the community. Located in Newkirk Plaza, (a B & Q train Express stop). Just make a Right when you come out of the turnstiles and it's slightly to your Right.

It has some of the most interesting and delicious pizza in the neighborhood. The "Upsidedown Pie" is delicious, and the spicy and mysterious "Evil Pizza," will beguile and entrance you.

Their pasta dishes are excellent. My favorite is the Penne Vodka, with chicken and broccoli. There's enough to feed 2 - 3 people, and it's very filling. The Bolognese is delicious - meaty and full of beefy flavor. Also very filling. Yum!

The family close the shop in August and go back to Sicily for a long vacation. They return in September, renewed and ready for another year of...

It's a neighborhood spot. This is a family owned business, second generation now. I know a 20 something woman who grew up in the neighborhood and her parents would get their pizza at Lo Duca. Back then my friend would play with the boys of the owner, the boys who now make the pizzas I buy! The parents have moved on to NJ, where they have a pizzeria. This shop is busy, so the pizza is always fresh. And this place is clean, super clean. Two brothers run the shop, they are always there, another worker who is always there and then assorted neighborhood locals, who visit to chat with them. I love this pizza shop. Good pizza place!! Hardworking people! I loved the upside down slice and if it had basil on it, it'd have been the perfect slice!! Cheese slice was good but not the best I've had. The basil on Grandma slice worked for me!! It was decent! I wanted to try other slices such as penne and shrimp/calamari but I realized those aren't my preference/style of slices. Wanted to try the vodka slice but I couldn't find it amongst all pizzas there. I wish they had labels on those pizzas because I had to ask multiple times. Only a few of them were labelled. If there is only slice I'd recommend, that's the Upside down!

First thing the customer service is not that great. The workers here dont know how to address properly. They would say "Yo your pizza is ready" Worst customer service but the pizza is good with bad customer service. The plain pizza is amazing. I was told by owner (I think he was the owner) that the cheese and sauce is authentic and homemade from his family bloodline in Italy. I have to say this is the best tasting pizza around this area. On the other hand I tried their baked zitti and I'm not impressed the cheese in it has a weird taste. The Pizza here 8/10.
