Read moreExceptional Dining Experience at Locanda Verde, Manhattan
Last week, I had the pleasure of dining at Locanda Verde, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. Initially, my colleague and I had booked a table for two, but as our evening began, we inquired about the possibility of two more joining us. The staff was remarkably accommodating, seamlessly transitioning our table to accommodate four.
A highlight of the evening was the wine selection. Upon requesting a wine aged in oak barrels, the sommelier introduced us to a superb choice. It was so impressive that we ended up ordering two bottles for the table. The use of decanters for aerating the wine enhanced the experience further.
The cuisine was nothing short of spectacular. I opted for the duck breast, which I can confidently say was one of the best I've ever had. Cooked to sheer perfection, it was a memorable highlight of the meal.
The service at Locanda Verde truly sets it apart. The sommelier and other staff members were attentive without being intrusive. They ensured our wine was evenly and fairly distributed - a small, yet thoughtful touch that added humor and warmth to our evening.
The ambiance of the restaurant struck the perfect balance. With ideal lighting and a welcoming atmosphere, it complemented our delightful conversations and the exquisite food.
In conclusion, Locanda Verde is a must-visit for anyone in Manhattan. From the accommodating staff and the exquisite wine selection to the exceptional cuisine and perfect ambiance, it's an experience that epitomizes fine dining at its best. Highly...
Read moreBefore I say anything negative, the food was great. I think it was the only thing that saved this place, I guess they deserve at least 1 star. The service was okay as well. The only thing I will complain is the waiting time and the hostesses. There were 5 of them by the host stand, and none of them know what they were doing and were not communicating.
We initially had a reservation at 7:30 for 4 people, arrived at 7:20 and asked us to wait a bit. Sure there was a bar and we got some drinks. 20 minutes later at some point, none of the 5 hostess came to us, and we had to go to them every 5 minutes asking for our table. One of the hostess asked us if we wanted to sit outside where we CLEARLY made a reservation for inside.
We saw a table of 4 open up around 7:55 and asked if that table was ours, as we saw it was available for the past 10 minutes. One of the hostess proceeded to tell us “sorry, it’s for a table of 6 people”, where clearly only 4 plates were laid out. We then saw a family of 4 with 2 small children sit on that “seat for 6”. Sorry but we’ve been waiting for 30 minutes and they just came in?!??? Also, why did you lie to us??
Horrible wait time, they lied, badly organized. It was my partner’s birthday and she was furious. Never experienced reservations like that in any other place. We wanted to go somewhere else but it was a Friday night so i guess we had no choice but to sit through this bullshit. Never coming back. It’s New York City, there’s amazing food everywhere. I recommend going...
