I am appalled by the service I received here on 8/16/24 at around 5:45 p.m. I usually order the Mango Slush, which is fantastic, but I decided to try something new this time. I ordered the Watermelon Slush, which, although not terrible in taste, was essentially watermelon juice and not a slush. It’s 90 degrees outside; if I order a slush, I expect to get a slush and not something else. I politely told the two girls at the register that I didn’t like my drink and asked if I could exchange it for my usual Mango Slush. At first, they said they couldn’t do it. After explaining the situation, they decided to call their manager, Li. Manager Li supposedly responded that they couldn’t make me a new drink due to the “loss of ingredients” from the Watermelon Slush. Instead, if I ordered and paid for another drink, they would offer a 20% discount. A 20% discount on a $7 drink is less than $1.50—are you kidding me? From a business perspective, I understand they may not think it was their fault since they likely followed the drink recipe. However, if a customer isn’t satisfied with their order, why not offer an exchange to ensure a good experience? Their excuse about the “loss of ingredients” is absolutely crazy; the cost of ingredients is probably less than $1- (maybe 2 small slices of watermelon, some tea base and sweetener). I understand this establishment isn’t high-end, but good customer service should still be a priority. A “loss of ingredients” costing less than $1 versus losing a regular customer who lives two blocks away seems like a poor trade-off.
