REPLY If your case is to keep your establishment "free" of COVID-19, then don't keep people or tables next to each other. Take their actual temperature, your staff was safe because they were too busy keeping a conversation going by the bar than serving the customers. Your establishment does not keep a "High Maintenance of Cleanliness". This is not the first time i've been in your establishment. But i do appreciate knowing that your establishment is not a place to go and spend my time or money. Have a great day as well. REPLY First your hostess should be telling anyone that comes in the regulations, the sign that you claim is in the front is hidden behind your hostess. Your staff was very respectful it was the manager who was rude. I was not the one speaking about the business industry. When my friend asked his name he kept saying “have a goodnight” i left after wards. What happened then i do not know because i was not going to stay in there and argue with someone who does not want my business. Whether groups come in stagger or not is not my problem at the end this is supposed to be a hospitality business. The more people you get the more money. But that is just my opinion and my experience at your restaurant. Very unprofessional. You have a good day sir/ma’am. ————— Disappointed manager was disrespectful. We had a reservation and were a group of 6 spend more than $800 and was going to spend more until the host decides to kick our group out because people outside were waiting on a table. When we asked she said speak to the manager. The manager was rude and instead of politely explaining he just continue to show us the door. Also we were not the only group. Other groups that were there were also getting kicked out. Never had a problem here before but definitely not coming back. Plus there was no hookah. There’s other places that’s better out there. Wont be surprised if another place opens up and takes...
Read moreOverall: Tremendously overpriced name-brand joint, given the uptown (Dyckman) location.
Arrived on a Wednesday evening before 6:30, still in time for Happy Hour, but because of an event indoors, the lackluster, ever-disappearing server informed us that nothing was available off that part of the menu "because she couldn't get to the bar". This despite the availability of alcoholic drinks that were varied -- and available at full price. Three middling mojítos later, we were already down $42. And the drinks weren't even served in a Collins glass....
Food was fine; started and stayed with apps after seeing the pricey Entree menu. Big fan of fries; the $6 "Garlic Fries" that arrived were hot and seasoned well but were thinner than pictured and definitely of the frozen variety, which was disappointing. Tostones at $6 were hot also but overdone. BBQ ribs were the best of the items ordered; tender and tangy because of the sauce -- but at $16 for four, were on the high end.
The Dyckman venue was scenic enough outdoors and appropriately loud, as the Café is located on the strip of restaurants with a festive vibe, but when two surrounding tables were allowed to bring out the hookah pipes and "share" their high with the rest of us nonsmoking patrons, unsolicited, it definitely was an L -- for us and this review, accordingly. And once the bill arrived (only after flagging down the ever-teleporting server), the baked-in 18% gratuity per restaurant policy (the meal was over $100) I was definitely Done Forever there.
Bottom Line: Westchester or NNJ prices for middling fare in a waaaay uptown Manhattan location should make ya' Mamajuana go somewhere else pronto y...
