MaMaTaco — Restaurant in New York

This is my very 1st time at this establishment and I will say the service is great. I was googling different Mexican food restaurants and happened to come across Mama Taco. When I got there was only one couple inside eating and by time I left around 10pm there were more ppl eating. I ordered the steak burrito bowl and a steak burrito. However our waitress Citlalin informed us there was no guacamole and that devastated me. Since there was no guacamole and its my favorite thing to have when eating Mexican food and also apart of the Mexican dish it made me want to leave. I asked Citlalin if some. Would go to the market and get avocados to make the guacamole because they should have it it's apart of majority of the meals on the menu. She said,"let me see what I can do." When she came back to check on us I asked if she was able to get the avocado and she said," yes their making it." Honestly, this is an example of great customer service and great team player. She ensure all our needs were met while giving us great service. I would recommend more spices for the rice. That was the only negative on my plate in additionto the popcorn. The rice was way too crunch, It almost taste like boxed rice and I wouldve preferred it less crunchy. The popcorn was also stail and not fresh. I had high expectations coming in, as I followed them on instagram and the deals seemed great! The bartender was friendly and brought out free popcorn which are topped with a chili-lime powder. Unfortunately, the margarita was okay. A little too sweet, not really strong, but since it was taco Tuesday, they had the free marg deal, so I technically didn’t have to pay for it. I then tried a frozen margarita to see if it was any better, but it was served already half watered down, not that thick frozen consistency that most frozen margaritas have. Flavor wise, it was also okay, nothing special about it, didn’t leave me wanting more. Lastly, the tacos- while they do serve them with a lot of meat and topping, the onions are thick, and they only serve them on ONE tortilla, instead of two, so as a result it’s hard to even pick up the taco and fold it or hold it for the matter, without the tortilla immediately getting soggy and falling apart. The atmosphere- really hot indoors even with the AC being on, so it’s really stuffy and there weren’t even that many people when I went since it was a weekday at noon. Overall, probably...

I recently visited MAMATACO with my friends, and I must say, it was an absolute delight!
