Mayas Snack Bar — Restaurant in New York

My main reason for the 1 star review will have to be non other then the fact that they don't have any sign visible to the customers of a notice stating there will be a 3.5% up charge for using a credit card. And looking at the pos system that they are using which is Square, the credit card processing fee is around 1.6-2.6%. Which means that the 3.5% that they are Charging is used to not only pay for their square pos service charges but used for their own advantages. Now don't get me wrong I don't think there is anything wrong with setting up your own business the way want, however my main issue is, 1) there was no sign stating there is an extra charge 2) the person taking my order never informed me of this upcharge, instead I had to go up and ask if they charge a extra fee which she then gave me a receipt that says on the bottom, "save 3.5% if payed in cash". I think for a business that's considered a snack bar they should not be charging so much for fees without clarity. Snacks were also mid and very pricey. So I will not...

The one star is for the actual paleta I had. It tasted true to the pistachio flavor and no trace of artificial flavoring.

Upon entering there's quite an array of treats but no labels or pricing. The QR code scan reveals no ice cream flavors (which is what I came for). I asked the staff behind the counter whom did inform me of flavors. By then I closed the browser and inquired with staff of pricing. I was directed to go by the register for cup size and prices. And there was no pricing information so I asked the cashier. By then I forgot the flavors, and saw a pistachio paleta and went for that.

Yeah, how about you just label your offerings and post a board with prices where anyone can see this as soon as they come in instead of going back and forth.

Safe to say, I won't...

Avooid this place!! Employee opened door and a RAT came in, which he didn't chase, just walked behind it in slow motion. He later killed the RAT behind the booth next to the restroom. He picked it up with a plastic bag and placed the booth back the way it was, im sure blood is still there because NO DISINFECTION WAS DONE. He later washed his hands and got back to work without saying a single word. Everbody was disgusted in what they witnessed. We all seen rats cause you know (NY) but how poorly trained these employees are to handle a situation like that, no word of relief, no asking if we are ok, no disinfecting, at least a discount, NOTHING, JUST A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I will notify this to the city and hopefully they close...
