I used to love this place but after today I will not be buying food from them ever again. I placed an order for a large yellow rice with baked chicken, small shrimp pasta, and a small( 1pound) of BBQ ribs. I've never seen this mexican looking lady behind the counter before but she was very rude. I kept telling her a large and she reaching for a small saying oh it's more money. You sure you want it. Like Hello Miss I know I have the money!! I told you Large yellow rice and etc in plain English. What makes you think I dont want it? My skin color? She felt like she needed to tell me the price for everything and made sure I wanted it. Like Ms. just make the order, so I can go home!!! The chicken was very overcooked and dry. The ribs were not cooked well and very chewy. I've had better Spanish cuisine at my friends' houses. I'm good. I will no longer support a business that just doesn't want my black dollar bc a couple bad apples cant pay for their food in the community. You serve us and you should be more acceptable to those in the community you serve. You dont like it,leave!!! I've given this place plenty of chances when it comes to their customer service. Good...
Read moreWe were not of Latino origin & were overlooked often. They were looking at us funny probably bc we were black eating in and many have felt uncomfortable eating with us. They brought our plate of food down with no eating utensils. We had to request it, then there were no onions for the meal we brought. They said they ran out. The beans tasted basic, not flavorful. However, I would recommend the yellow rice. It was delicious. Some of the chicken was dry and other parts moist. Stewed chicken tasted like chicken noodle soup. We had to bargain for the price. We ordered tostones and they never brought them out but remembered to charge us for them on the receipt. I had to check the bill after my partner paid it and am glad I noticed it-for them to issue a refund. One very big woman working there was rude saying "excuse me!" expecting everyone to suddenly clear the aisles bc she was walking through. No pleasantness from her. The bathroom was freezing, there was no lock on the bathroom door, there was no heat there. Food was overpriced. They was a loud drunk man yelling in the restaurant and no corrected him while I was eating right next to...
Read moreOrdered from them twice so far (today & 2 weeks ago). They surpassed our expectation. Despite their mispells (pepsy as pepsi, sour soap as soursop, etc) - the food was authentic, super delicious, affordable and fast (delivery wise).
My favorites were the dominican spaghetti (full of flavor and was saucy), mangu (delicious and authentic), fried plantains, cubano sandwich, pernil with rice and beans, and the passion fruit and sour sop drinks. I will continue to try their other foods but so far those were the ones that I love.
I highly highly recommend this shop! It was as good as the dominican restaurants in washington heights. No need to travel that far on the 1 train, you can get delicious dominican fooda here (close...
