This diner is usually fantastic, but recently there's been a staffing change and the waitress we had was beyond awful.
She dropped a mozzarella stick as she was about to serve us the dish, clearly noticed it, shrugged her shoulders and handed us the plate anyway. No apologies, no asking the kitchen to make more, no taking it off the check... Nothing. That was 1/6th of the appetizer. I couldn't believe it. Who does that??
She took an order for a burger and did not ask how it should be done and ran off into the kitchen. Brought back a medium-rare burger. My buddy was not happy.
Handed another person from my table her omelette with home fries on the side. Friend did not know it came with home fries and explained that she was allergic to the bell peppers in it. Waitress takes the plate while angrily muttering "well it said it on the menu, you should have read the menu" and comes back with it clearly having scrapped the home fries off, there were still remnants of it on the plate.
Upon seeing this, of course my friend was very upset and asked to speak to a manager. As the waitress witnessed the manager coming over to us, she promptly runs over to speak over my friend and barks at the manager that she told the kitchen to make a new one. She obviously didn't.
She "upgraded" a meal without asking, added eggs to an order when the my friend specifically said no eggs. It was a $5 upcharge from what he ordered.
When we went up to the front to explain to the manager what's been happening with our meal, the manager tells us that he's not the regular manager and dismissively turns his back to us while we spoke to him.
This is by far the worst experience we've ever had in this diner and it's a real shame because we love this place. I don't know what's going on, maybe it was not a good day for them, but the lack of interest in retaining customers was loud and clear. Maybe because this is not the regular manager, he really doesn't care how the business does. I've come to this diner maybe 20 times in the past year and ever since this experience, I'm not sure if I...
Read moreI am so absolutely furious with the experience I had at this diner. Upon walking in, my boyfriend and I were not greeted with a "hello", smile, or anything welcoming us. An older gentleman walked over, grabbed two menus, and just began walking to a booth- without asking us how many people we were (what if there was a third or more coming?) or where we would like to sit. The waitress came over and asked us what we would like to eat. I expressed to her that I have an allergy to eggs and asked if the quesadillas have anything in them made with eggs. The waitress proceeds to look at me like I have 3 eyeballs, and list off the ingredients she thinks go into the quesadilla, instead of simply just asking the chef. Since she had no clue, she gave us a few more minutes as I picked another item from the menu. When she came back with our food, a salad and a turkey club sandwich, there were several things I noticed. Firstly, THE SALAD HAD EGGS IN IT, when I had said just about 10 minutes prior that I am allergic to eggs. The sweet potato fries on my boyfriends plate were burnt to a crisp and inedible. I called the waitress back and told her that I had mentioned I am allergic to eggs and there are eggs on this plate. This is a plain disregard to what a customer said, an utter lack of knowledge of menu items because she should have known there were eggs in the salad I had ordered, and a safety hazard to my wellbeing had I not seen the eggs in the plate. Besides the food, there were no extra napkins anywhere in sight on the table or brought to us, and I had to get up and take napkins from another table instead. The food was not good and definitely not worth the price on the menu. When we were leaving, the older gentleman who I thought maybe was having a bad day and was ready to give the benefit of the doubt to, turned out to be chatty with everyone except us. An older group of women was walking in as we were walking out and he greeted them, smiled, said "hello", and asked if they would like to sit at a table or a booth. Overall, a disgusting experience and we will never be...
Read morei work very close to this place so i go very frequently. usually ill get a drink since i’m just getting off work when i go. same drink, same way every time. house tequila double shot mix with cranberry/pineapple. every single time it is $12-13 with tax. tonight, my drink was $33. instead of taking care of a frequent, respectful, and good tipping customer, the owner just told me that the servers have been putting it in wrong all this time. as a bartender who also goes out frequently, $33 for a double shot mix is insane! also, if you look at the photo attached, you can see i was charged for two drinks, not a double (which as a bartender, i know that alone makes a significant difference in price no matter what place it is) and was charged for top shelf when i always get house. owner told me “all the liquor we have is considered house” el toro is a $18 bottle at the store. absolutely ridiculous. i normally don’t complain or try to cause conflict, but this was just insanely uncalled for. $22 more than what i normally pay for the same drink i always get here? crazy. naturally i paid the normal $12 and left. respectfully, train your servers properly and make sure they know the correct way to put these things in, over a year of going here consistently and never have been charged this way. i really do love the food and environment. (and the convenience since i work very close) so i’m definitely upset by this, not sure if i will be back. also, i rated 2stars for service as the only overnight server i’ve had that is actually attentive to their customers is Jamie. always a sweetheart when i have her. all that said, please take this into consideration if you go here...
